I don't get how they come up with these rankings. ND 3 on rivals yet 10 on Scout. In fact there are several changes from one site to another on quite a few teams. Just goes to show you this is all subjective. For me the true barometer is what schools offered said recruit. If a kid has offers from OU, Texas, Bama, OSU, USC ,ND, Michigan to name a few, most likely the kid is a "player" . If he has offers from Vandy, NW, Stanford, NC, and such, he may be pretty good but not elite. My point is no one really knows until 2 or 3 years down the road. A lot can happen between signing day and actually playing in a game. So though I am pleased somewhat the Irish are ranked in the top 10, it really doesn't mean much until they prove it on the field. More important is whether you have players who fit your style of football. The NFL is full of great players who played on less than stellar teams in college. Yet they are in the NFL. Just because you recruit NFL talent that doesn't mean you are an automatic champion. the players you recruit need to excel in your system and that doesn't always happen.
