Biggest Punch in the Stomach since 2005 USC Game

Personally this is the most disappointing loss since the 2005 USC game... Simply play smart football for 30 seconds and we win a great game. No we don't play smart and result is a mind blowing loss that has left me numb and depressed. I can't even think about and at this point don't really care what bowl game we go to.

We need to change our end of year routine......it seems we have a consistent record of losing the last game of the year on the West Coast with a follow-up loss in a bowl game since 2002. Ugh!!!!!!

I don't know what to think going forward regarding Kelly. If BVG goes I don't have much faith in Kelly hiring a competent DC. Relies too much on his 'good old buddy' system to hire past asst coaches. Especially if you look at BVG's past records. A lot of coaching gigs at different places in a 10- year span. If makes you wonder how good he really is.

Kudos to Kiser, CJ and Adams for a great year..... They are studs!

Sure was...

Looks like we always come up on the short end of the stick on these late night big time games lately...
your concerns are valid ... our DC is not very good. I hope we get an upgrade and throw as much money as needed at someone (possible from NFL)
Can't expect offense to score 35-40 points in big games all the time

Didn't the Irish beat USC in L.A. for a BCS title shot just a few years ago? It's not the aura of playing out west. It's the mystery of playing defense. Any old kind of mediocre pass defense would have been enough last night to win. Surly I wasn't the only one who thought that thirty seconds was way too much time to give Stanford. Lou said the other day that if ND shuts down #5 they will win. He didn't count on the Secondary playing so badly and another Red Zone turnover. Of course, that's been going on in other venues too. Not just in the west coast.

Bottom line, we are way over rated. Our red zone offense stinks, and I put that on Kelly, and our defense, particularly the corners and safeties stink as well. Considering these 2 things and you get what we got

This was a kick in the NUTS period. Congratulations BVG on the re invention of Swiss Cheese.

DC is ok, We still lack talent on the defensive side of the ball. If our middle LB is a walk on, that pretty much sums up ND's defensive talent.
