Who do you think are the best players to come out of Notre Dame in the history of the program. Running back, Quarterback, and Defensive End were very difficult to list because of so many great players.
Offense
QB1 - John Lujack
QB2 - Joe Theisman
RB1 - Johnny Lattner
RB2 - Allen Pinkett
WR1 - Tim Brown
WR2 - Raghib Ismail
TE1 - Ken MacAfee
TE2 - Dave Casper
OL1 - Aaron Taylor
OL2 - Quenton Nelson
OL3 - George Connor

Defense
DE1 - Ross Browner
DE2 - Alan Page
DT1 - Chris Zorich
DT2 - Bryant Young
OLB1 - Bob Golic
OLB2 - Jaylon Smith
MLB1 - Bob Crable
MLB2 - Michael Stonebreaker
S1 - Harrison Smith
S2 - Luther Bradley
CB1 - Todd Lyght
CB2 - Bobby Taylor
P - Tyler Newsome
K - John Carney

QB: Paul Hornung and Johnny Lujack
RB: George Gipp and Jerome Bettis
TE: Leon Hart and Ken Macafee
WR: Time Brown and Rocket Ismail

The rest of the picks are arguable of course.

It is hard to ignore what they did in the Pros but this is about what they did at Notre Dame.

Which is why I picked Macafee over Casper.

1956 Paul Hornung had arguably the greatest single season by a single player ever at Notre Dame.
On a team that was garbage.

Excellent list. If we had a defense of those plays you listed today I don't think we'd ever get scored on.

Why only 3 o-linemen? Or did I read that wrong? Nice list. How about punt and kickoff return men. Rocket

Thom Gatewood for WR and jack Snow.

Harry Oliver kick maybe the biggest field goal in ND history.

Would love to see a 2 deep and a all time coaching staff.

Great list - usually when I see these, people pick all guys from the last ten years.

Teo's senior season has to go down as the most decorated and he was so productive, but Crable was everywhere. And prior to the car accident, if you needed a big play, Stonebreaker made it!

Amazing the TE's ND has had.
