Was a huge feat.

USC has the most future NFL players on its roster bar none.
The coach getting dismissed....Haden falling over on sideline...SC rallying around all that.
Everything was scripted to lose to SC.

Losing the big lead only to gain it right back.

I said after the VA game this team just had that something. That thing that just wins games.

The end of year showdown with Stanford will put the irish in or cement them outside looking in.

I think your absolutely right 88 . This game had a ND loss written all over the place . I am proud of this victory the team came back and finished off the Trojens

honestly it couldve gone either way. But SC played a great game for the most part and def showed that they showed up to play unlike us out there last year. I was hoping for a bigger beat down, but i'll take it.

this team is taking on the personality of its' QB. That is a big difference. ND has not had that kind of leadership presence for some time.

DeShone has that "it" factor in his genes. It's going to be tough keeping him out of the starting line up against Texas in 2016. I know what Coach Kelly said to Malik on the day he was injured, but DeShone has grown so much in such a short period of time.
At this point, Kizer has more experience and more wins than Zaire. Where's the controversy??

What's the name of the schmuck on the Yankees who got injured, and his backup (Lou Gehrig) had to enter the game??
We all know how that turned out. Sometimes shit happens for a reason.

i seriously cant believe Kizer has been this good. When I saw Malik on that cart at UVa I said "season over". But Kizer has proven to be every bit as good and capable for the most part as Zaire to be the starting QB. I remember hearing BK say at times during camp that Kizer was "pushing Zaire for the #1 job" and i thought it was all coach speak to motivate Zaire. Maybe he wasnt BSing us afterall. Sucks though for MZ cause I thought he had the IT factor as well. Guess its a good problem to have when a 5 star recruit may be 3rd string after 2 years.

That is why I asked the question can Malik play a different position? He could be the emergency QB if the need would arise but I can tell you this much...Kizer is a better QB than Malik and I like him..I really do but he is just not as good all around. Better runner, yes. The whole package Kizer is a better QB.

The real problem may lie with Wimbush and how do you keep him sticking around waiting that long for his turn?

One thing I wish Kizer would do and that is look off the defenders at times. Golson, Rees both had a ridiculous problem staring down the target forever and ever.

That is the one area he can get so much better and stepping into his throws. He might have been able to wobble a pass from the far hash to sideline in high school but at this level the ball can't float that long. He has to start stepping into his throws and delivering accurate strikes. If our track team playing receiver can catch the ball on the run during a deep in pattern they could possibly turn 15 yard gains into 65 yard scores.

But so far given being thrown to the wolves he is doing just fine. He is growing up before our eyes and the SC game was no different. Him taking off and getting a crucial first down when our offense was stale was just the ticket in the third quarter against SC. If he doesn't make that run we might not win the game. He can be just as good as Malik at running by using the run in an effective manner.

I wad very happy with the win And especially how focused the team started the game. Welcomed surprise.

USC is in turmoil Bodi, they had lost twice before us and can/will potentially lose at least 1-2 more after ND. If ND lost to USC at home in a game where they should have been motivated as hell for pay back, when USC doesn't have a coach, when they were favorites and had the biggest group of top tier talent visiting that they will all season ... yeah that's a disaster. Wouldn't have ended the season but would have served as a notice that ND is still not where it wants to be.

I think it's closer to the opposite. If ND had loss to USC under those circumstances it would have been a disaster

Disaster at 5 and 2? Maybe to a Drama major.

Still not a "Disaster", A setback is the word you should have used..
