Former Notre Dame first baseman Niko Kavadas continued his climb up the Boston Red Sox farm system Friday. He made his Triple-A debut with the Worcester Red Sox in a 9-2 victory over the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp.

Kavadas finished the game 1-for-3 at the plate with a single, a walk and two runners left on base while playing first base and hitting in the No. 8 spot.

Kavadas, an 11th round pick of the Red Sox in 2021, spent the rest of the 2023 season playing for the Double-A Portland Sea Dogs. Kavadas led the team with 14 home runs and 42 RBIs in 69 games played. Kavadas hit .204 with a .386 on-base percentage and a .430 slugging percentage. He struck out 110 times against 64 walks.
