Barry Sanders JR granted a release from Stanford

It sounds like Oklahoma St is in the mix considering his history there. He said he was waiting for an offer, but I wonder if this is a player ND might be interested in, and would consider an offer. I believe he would still have to sit out an season. Has anyone else heard any news?

I do believe we tried to recruit him, but I assume he will end up at Oklahoma State.

Several OSU (Okstate) 'insiders' have explained the whole reason for the transfer is so Barry Sanders Jr can transfer in. There are more than just a few close to that situation who are considering this a foregone conclusion.

I really don't know one way or the other. However, BSJ (he's actually not a 'Jr.') played highschool football in my town and while he is/was talented, it was his name and pedigree that attracted the most attention. His dad was truly a freak of nature, and a special talent. BSJ is quite a bit physically different, both in size and running style.

Again, not trying to slight him as a player or person (by all accounts he is a great, smart kid), but I have to think you ND folks can attract/recruit better talent.

Actually, I think he is graduating with a degree. As a college graduate he will be eligible to play immediately without sitting out a year.

Without a doubt. McCafferey is by far the best overall player in CF.

Back to your original point DIP. We have a great stable of RB's, so he wouldn't get any more carries here than he did at Stanford. Remember we have Folston coming back and Adams looked really good. Then there's Williams and Jones coming in on top of that.

I know everybody is saying OK State, but they sling the ball around the yard, not sure how much action he'd see, I'm going to toss this name out here La Tech with Skip Holtz, he turned Dixon from an unknown to having the second most TD's in NCAA history, think he had 6 in one game this season.
