Did anyone else watch that game? I did, because I had several friends and relatives that went to Western Michigan.

What was up with that field? It was nothing more than painted dirt and made my yard look like a top-notch golf course. Can they not grow decent grass in the Bahamas?

Was better than the grass they grew in ND stadium.

It was better than the painted dirt at Notre Dame Stadium for many years!;)

The Sun Bowl had snow and sleet.
I remember one Sun Bowl when Barry Sanders played for Oklahoma State, and that was a storm that dropped several inches of snow during the game. He still had about 200 yards or so on the ground, which shouldn't surprise anyone.

The Sun Bowl between ND and Miami had snow the previous day. About 4-5 inches worth.

I guess naming it the more apt, "Snow Bowl" would deter the crowds from getting tickets and enjoying that warm December Texas Sun...
