Let me start off by saying, seeing a player on tv vs. in person is much different. You get a chance to see the plays develope entirely, when they miss, how they miss, angles etc..

Yes, BW was 50% today but I think it was the best he has thrown this season. There were at least five, probably more drops. He still has a tendency to miss badly every 6/7 throws but he was making a lot of nice throws in traffic, unfortunately a number of them were dropped. I understand conditions were poor but the guys didn't get it done for him at times today.

He did have 100+ rushing again but he actually used his feet a number of times to escape, buy time and make throws. In some cases it looked like he could have had solid gains had he decided to run. That said, I think it showed his development and his maturation to keep his eyes up field and look for receivers.

Thoughts?

He's progressing nicely and miles ahead of week two.

That being said the keep looking upfield part in on the fence about because his recievers don't help the cause. Chase has a nice frame and is getting it...but him too dropping big plays is not good.

Steph is their best reciever and needs more targets. He can catch and is the most athletic by far.

He buys time, gets the ball there and they need to catch the damm ball.

Good assessment. I can't see anything to disagree with. What's impressed me most about Brandon is his desire to improve. A man who can rush for 200+ and four TDs against BC, then say "I've got to work on my passing," is a man who's dedicated to becoming a better player. Like you said, wet conditions didn't help his completion percentage today. I thought today was his best all-around performance of the year.

My favorite ND receiver's still Chase Claypool, though. A tough kid who likes doing the little, unselfish things that help win games out of the spotlight, and makes tough catches. The best part of the game for me was watching him have a big day receiving.

Stepherson's the best deep threat in ND's passing game, though.

Wimbush had an excellent game. Claypool had a breakout game. Not sure what's going on with St. Brown. He doesn't seem to get the ball as much this year.

Good assessment. BW is becoming money

I think St Brown does not always run good routes and he really struggles to catch the ball when he is even remotely covered.

My assessment is next year, this offense under BW and Chip Long is going to be even more potent than this year. Damn near unstoppable.

Couple big holes on the offensive line to fill, but, yeah, they should be pretty good, provided there aren't the usual cheating scandals, arrests and coaching screw-ups that we seem to see every other year.

BW did great - couple of under-thrown balls but all in all, was outstanding and continues to progress week to week. I thought EQ could have caught that pass down by the goal line, and I'm pretty sure that Stepherson had that pass in the end zone bounce off of his face mask!! Not saying either "should" have been caught - saying they "could" have been caught.

The QB can make a difference, too. St. Brown was Kizer's favorite target, but doesn't appear to be Wimbush's. I remember when Rees and Golson interchanged, that happened, too. Rees threw to the TEs a lot more than Golson did.

They absolutely SHOULD have been caught along with the one Claypool dropped. You’re right, the pass hit Stepherson on his face mask.

I agree on his progress.

He just needs to let his receivers run to the ball a little more by throwing it a tad sooner on the long balls. There was a few that was over thrown and a few underthrown

The receivers need to catch the ball. Too many dropped passes this year. Catching the balls with your hands is a lost art. It seems more too much receivers are using their body then try to wrap their hands on it.

Our coaches had a saying many moons ago when I played, "If the ball is withing three yards of you then you better catch it. If you can get one hand on the ball then you can get two hands on the ball. All that matters is you better catch it." It was that or you sat the bench.

BW is developing fine, but the receivers are doing him no favors.

Not every pass is meant to be caught. Sometimes they are throw-aways, but not the obvious kind. Sometimes it's good to miss the pass high or low in order to avoid an interception.

Assessment? He’s damn near close to being unstoppable! I mean... if the line gives him a solid 2 seconds... good things happen 7,8 out of 10 times. I mean.... 710 yards are you kidding me of offense? Lol. It’ll be Laughable once he “gets it” but I think he already gets it.

I’d say so and years quicker too. Wolford’s played 4 years. Imagine.... OMG Wimbush is only in his what, 8 game? RIP College Football.

I meant was he as good, better or worse than Wimbush on Saturday?
Idk but I’d assume his stats were better. He sure feasted on those 8 yard curl routes. He also ran the read option better then any other Qb I’ve seen this year. Atleast I’ve not seen a player own Drue Tranquill like that all year. He had Drue dead to right all game long and that’s no easy task. Drue is a beast playing his best football of his career and he stood no chance on Saturday.

When you watch the replays, kid could be 70%. He literally hit several Irish receiver either in the hands or in the face and they missed or dropped them. The two Long balls, Boykin was held so bad I have no idea why it was not called and he other a timed dive gets it I think. We have problems with completions, but it’s not BW who is not keeping up his end of the bargain. Watch some of those drops in slow mo. It’s unreal. Maybe wet and cold I guess. He really only missed on a few.
