Well the pros are way different then college. So they are not wrong about this at all.... Right ?? NDSCM.!!!!!!!!Funny they called Kazier a "project" at ND and he was the best QB since Clausse
One more year? He should have stayed two more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then get drafted by the Bears and spend his summers in Grand Haven!Still think he should have stayed one more year at ND..As he told me he was ready and wanted to move on.....
I think Coach Kelly tried to tell him that but like most teenagers he knew better...We will see...Of course you might not even see kizer for a couple of years...[/QUOTE]UOTE="TOMMY_23, post: 1994062, member: 58246"]One more year? Who has been better at QB at ND since Clausen? It's a landslide that it has been Kizer. Not even close. What are the odds Kizer will turn into the a really good QB in Cleveland? .... not good .... some people here have selective memories .... Kizer had some really good games with ND (what some only remeber) .... more good games than bad .... although he had his share of stinkers ..... best since Claussen ???? .... disagree .... this guys has thrown his share of dump passes to RB's out of the backfield 5 ft over their head
He will be a complete bust in the pros. This is no shot against him it's more a shot of the Cleveland Browns. Where not just quarterbacks but all football players go to Die. The definition of dysfunctional organizationStill think he should have stayed one more year at ND..As he told me he was ready and wanted to move on.....

Golsen? I don't know who that is, but there was a Golson that played at ND that was nowhere near the runner Kizer is. Golson never would've taken that 80-yard run to the house at Temple like DK did. Golson could scramble in the pocket but he was slow in terms of running in the open field.Landslide? ... disagree .... not that he hasn't been good IMO .... and Clausen was way better ... He could flat out chuck it ... Kizer is just a good athlete ..... and it is easy to fall in love with 6-5 .... If he was 6-2 we wouldn't be having this conversation ....... Kizer is one of the reasons (after Kelly) that ND hasn't beat a top 10 team or won a major bowl in forever .... he may exceed my expectations ... as for now ... I see him as career backup at best ..... going to Cleveland doesn't help ... not his fault ..... not like an Aaron Rodgers getting to go to Green Bay ..... I don't see him as good as Clausen or Brady Quinn ..... so I don't see Kizer making it .... if he does I'll be the 1st one to say you said so
I think Golsen was better .... better runner and thrower .... but IMO they are not that far apart ..... I think Zaire was better before the injury .... I don't think he was given fair chance to win the job back ..... after watching Rees it was a pleasure to watch a QB with athleticism like Kizer had ... he made some big plays .... I just saw too much inconsistency to say he was better

Pop in some ND tape of E.G. and you'll start to have nightmares. He's way more responsible for Kelly not winning a major bowl game. Because if he is as good as you think he was then he should've stayed academically eligible and 2013 wouldn't of been the Rees $H!t show. That year could've been Fiesta Bowl worthy with a better QB.
Golson was rendered to handing the ball off in 2015 at FSU and couldn't even get in to an NFL training camp. You can say Kizer will be a career back-up in the NFL and that's still better than being a career back-up in the CFL.
ND had no shot of getting to a major bowl game even before the Texas game started in 2016- total rebuilding year from the start. Kizer had one legit shot at a BCS-style bowl win against an OSU team that overmatched his team from the start. I hardly blame him for not being able to stop the Buckeyes run game in his one chance at a major bowl win.
Yes, it's a landslide. Kizer is the best QB since Jimmy.
Kizer has better physical tools but he EG never went 4-8.Golsen? I don't know who that is, but there was a Golson that played at ND that was nowhere near the runner Kizer is. After a year in Cleveland Kizer will think the same thing.Still think he should have stayed one more year at ND..As he told me he was ready and wanted to move on.....

While both guys have ended up being amazingly successful, I would take the Aaron Rodgers career track over the Matt Ryan career track. One guy got to apprentice for a few years, learn the system, learn the NFL game, the other got handed the ball as a rookie and had 100% OJT. IMHO, it would be better for Kizer's career possibilities to sit and watch and learn.I believe I saw an ESPN sports news ticker that stated there is no time line for DK to play or start. They want him developed and will not throw him out to the wolves. Not sure if that was ownership, GM, or coaching staff that made the statement.
