Wisconsin at #5 is a joke. Utah State (3-4), Florida Atlantic (3-3), BYU (1-6), Northwestern (3-3), Nebraska (3-4), Purdue (3-3)...

They have not played a winning team! (while catching BYU and Nebraska in unusually bad years.)

They must be going to church on Sunday to get that schedule.

Agreed. They may not play a ranked team all regular season if Michigan loses to Penn State next week.

Ohio State also ranked based on reputation...will see next week against Penn State as one of them should drop below ND with a ND victory over USC

Coach Meyer does a great job of coaching up his team year in and year out. They always seem to improve as they get deeper into their schedule and I'm assuming this is some of the thinking behind the loftier ranking (not to mention they were already fairly high when they lost to OU). For our Irish it's win and you're in (much easier said than done).

I don't want to support anOSU but they are knifing through their conference like hot butter. We don't really have to sweat anyone other than Michigan State because the BUG has a guaranteed playoff spot.

Wisconsin ranked 5th is just as bad. They haven't beaten anyone with a winning record. Miami's 8th, but at least they've beaten a few decent teams.
