Anyone Else Tired of Wasting Saturday's Watching ND?

Not that I don't like football, but I sacrifice so many other things to watch and then get emotionally involved. It cannot be healthy. Wouldn't we all be better off enjoying other things?
Did not see the whole game because I was busy This will be my last post until maybe april or later

It's frustrating. I'll always root for the Irish but nights like tonight are just frustrating when the team showed so much potential early on. All that talk about the team getting stronger later in the season with the strength and conditioning is not showing at all. Seemed like things started falling apart vs. Wake Forest and we haven't been the same since. I really hope they fix whatever is broken in time for the bowl game but not getting my hopes up.

I got hooked in the Lou Holtz days (back when we dominated teams and won big games) and somehow, still expect the same level of performance year after year. I’m hoping my doctor will cancel my prescription that keeps me from accepting reality.

Totally agree. My BP goes up which isn't good at 61. I've gotten to the point where no one in my family wants to watch with me. So I'm alone with my laptop and my cell phone.

THat's just a picture of sad.

(Except when we win.)

I'm done. I was done after the Miami game -- just too many of those losses. I was a Kelly fan but I really think it is time for a change. He is great at making underdogs competitive (2012-2015-2017) but he doesn't win the big one and he really underperforms when he actually has some talent.

I need a break.

You have to watch for the comedic moments it provides!

I listened to the game on ESPN radio. Thank God the Stanford announcers were the 2 biggest dorks in the world. It actually made me laugh even though the game was not funny. They think David Shaw is wonderful.

You need to put this in perspective. I think at your age you realize this. Two acquaintances of mine are terminal. Another lost his battle a few months back. It's all relative. What's really important and what's not.

Totally get that. And I'm maybe over stating a bit. When I was a student at ND in the 70s I went to games and cheered but it was over when it was over. Maybe I spend too much time on this site!

I stopped watching last year......started again then stopped at Miami. Only check in on scores and glad I did not watch that 2nd half embarrassment at Stanford. Oh well.......

That a boy. Glad to see you coming over the winning side of the BK crowd.

Agreed. Never understood why the outcome of a sporting event that someone is only participating as a fan could affect that person's mood and demeanor for more than 10 minutes after it's over. On to the bowl game and back to work tomorrow.

I think maybe getting overly vested in a football game means we're the lucky ones. Many people out there not afforded the luxury of being miserable over a football game. It's a bit embarrassing to me that I care about ND football when there are so many people struggling in this world. Good lesson to pull back the reigns a bit. Hell, even if ND won the NC, it would have little bearing on my health, family, career, finance, marriage. Once they lost the next game it'd be over.

I honestly wish I could just go cold turkey. I cancelled my B&G last season, stop buying The Shirt, Stopped going to 1 game a season, cancelled my premium site but like a car accident on the side of the Cross Bronx Expressway, I keep staring.
