I was a HUGE Larry Bird fan so that is my main memory....BUT I also loved ND....DePaul.....St. John's.....heck even Penn. Loved that ucla lost too. Indiana state's win over Arkansas was a classic.

Hope ND shocks the world in 2015!

I recall Penn/MSU in the Final Four was about as gruesome a match as we've ever had. After ND lost I went out to shoot hoops in a neighbor kid's yard and he came out singing "Goodbye Irish"

The funny thing about your wiki link BGI is they used to have a 3rd place game in the Final Four.

In '79 it was DePaul over Penn 96-93.
