Anybody notice that the top 12 in AP Poll & CFP rankings are basically the same?

What a massive disappointment.

You would think they'd be able to evaluate teams with more nuance but the CFP rankings have divulged into the AP Poll (if you lose you move down, if you win you move up, with only slight deviation)

The problem with this is that it's going to incentivize a lot more watered down schedules (boring regular seasons) since pretty much all P4 wins and losses are being viewed as the same.

Literally the only difference in the AP & CFP rankings is the #6 & #7 teams being in reverse order and the #12 teams being different.

And if you look at the W-L records of these teams the top 5 or so have 0 or 1 loss, the teams ranked 5-10 have 2 loss, and the 10-12 have 3 losses (with few exceptions) lol

Its silly as hell when you consider that there are two conferences dominating the sport (and they are cancelling each other out in head to head matchups). This just adds more fuel to the fire of the SEC & BIG10 exclusive scheduling & exclusive playoff rumors

Its a stupid precedent to set that you are not going to rank teams for the playoff with more nuance than "a p4 win = move up, a p4 loss = move down"

I feel like even an average 10 year old could see the problems/limitations with this system.

If only there was some sort of rating system that could provide a more nuanced and objective way to evaluate teams. I haven't seen it brought up on this board yet, but have any of you heard about this F+?

And what? The cr@ppy F+ is better? "Bro", F+ has OSU ranked #1 after they lost to Michigan at home. lmao. The F+ is a complete farce. Wins and losses matter chase. I get you are most likely part of the participation trophy generation, and that's what F+ is. Offense puts up 600 yards but only scores 10 points in a loss and they are ranked #1 😂 what a joke.

You can't even justify how OSU is rated the best team in the country. Based on what? their offensive and defensive efficiencies? 😂 WINS AND LOSSES MATTER YOU IDIOT. That's why a team earns points for crossing the opponents goal line and kicking FG's. Do you suggest we forget about scores and simply go by the team that gains the most yards and gives up the least amount of yards. 😂 Just beyond stupid. You've been dropped on your head too many times.

considering that the CFP and AP Poll are basically identical through the regular season, the latest AP Poll update might be a good indicator of what the final CFP rankings are going to look like (at least from the non auto-bid teams)

1. Oregon
2. Georgia
3. ND
4. Texas
5. PSU
6. OSU
7. Tenn
8. Boise
9. Indiana
10. ASU

Can you justify how the sh1tty F+ has Ohio State as the best rated team in the country?

ChaseHasNoBalls goes dark when he can't explain how F+ has OSU as the best team in the country. Ignores when called out on it. What a loser.
