Coan goes out with the score 10-10. Pyne comes in a gets smashed on a blindside hit causing a fumble that Wisky recovers to take a 13-10 lead in the 4th Quarter.
Chris Tyree takes the KO to the house to give the Irish immediate life. However the offense was not so good up to this point the game still in doubt and who knows how Pyne would have responded on a 3 & out.
With 10:41 left in the game and the outcome still in doubt. Pyne let's rip a 7 yard out. The ball is low around Austin's mid shin to his ankle. Not a great pass but a phenomenal chain moving catch. Three plays later Pyne hits Austin with a perfect pass over the middle for a 16 yard TD. Irish up 24-13 and never look back.
Pyne gains confidence and looks really good in his moment. Pyne also hit Austin on a perfectly set up WR tunnel screen. The pass looked well placed. Austin had blocking and what looked like a seam to the house. However he trips over a blade of grass for a 5 yd gain. The next play is the 3rd down conversion.
It's not unimaginable that Pyne starts next week. BK made it seem like TB would be available Saturday. But we found out he wasn't and a report was the Irish would have went to a Wildcat offense if something happened to Pyne.
Not sure how long Buchner is out. And Coan, just because it's "soft tissue" doesn't mean he'll be back. I get BK not releasing complete injury reports. But his history on this speaks for itself.
Pyne came in with the game absolutely in doubt at 10-10. He got hammered and fumbled to go down 13-10. The moment was NOT to big for him. Pyne finished
6-8 for 81 yards and a TD. Also lead a FG drive.
Pyne has a good arm, appears to have good vision is mobile, not a TB or IB but vastly more mobile than Coan.
Coan is the starter but will he be physically ready? The good thing is, he wasn't mobile to begin with.
Also, how'd y'all like the Pyne Connor McGregor imitation?!?!?
