Is Kelly staying, is he going? Who is the next name on the coaching want list?

None of this matters. Jack has no balls. He either colluded with Kelly to have him issue the "I am looking" story to the press -- or he had no knowledge of the fact Kelly is looking around. If the latter, shouldn't Jack fire Kelly for looking and embarrassing the program? (what ND is not good enough? so Kelly explores his options. BS)

So, instead of wishing and hoping, here is how you can make your point of view known. Contact Father Jenkins. Here is the contact information. Be short, to the point and respectful.

If we all do this, then maybe it would be a constructive, visible way for the fan base to show how disgusted we are.

I am writing one now as we speak !! Included in my letter will be a question "Why do we need our Dlineman to learn a foreign language in highschool ??!!! 'wouldn't their time be better spent in the weightroom?
Yours truly,
Bodie !

the decisions made by ND administration indicate reading/attention span might be hard to overcome; send a singing telegram!

has it occured to people that ND is actually reaping what it has sown?

I pretend to myself I am still a fan of Rockne'&Gipps Notre Dame; but down deep I know this is a horse of a different color.

If I could get past allegiance and emotional ties to this past belief, it would be so easy to smirk and chuckle at ND's plight! I think I am not alone among the ole farts of the sub alums in this thought!

So they can talk to the fan base?

I don't think the university really knows what it wants to do with the football legacy at Notre Dame. The last natty was 28 years ago. How many members of the BOT or the administration were even here back then? They don't even speak the language of "National Champions". Its all trophies in a glass case to these people...much like the museum adjacent to the cathedral. Relics all.

Notre Dame is fully committed to academics....and I'm OK with that. They hold athletics in a subordinate position...and thats legitimate...in fact, its right. The football program is a profitable arm of the university....not much more than that. Notre Dame's identity is no longer tied to its football program in the premier, crowning sense. Historically, the info is there for the taking. But playing for a national championship, if ever I believe, will happen sometime after the current BOT and administration are long gone. Their culture is alien to the glory days of Notre Dame football.

I watched the last national championship game that Notre Dame won. Wouldn't trade it for the world. But my days of anticipation and high expecations is over. From now on....I'm just a casual observor...And, just like the powers that be at Notre Dame...I've got bigger fish to fry.

Perse....I haven't watched a complete game this season....and on many occasions..shut it off, even when ND was ahead.....believing full well, and rightfully so...we would lose. First time I did this. Something more important always going on....then it hit me....that's the position of the powers that be. So we're on the same page.
