a good pickup for our irish on defense and a kid with a very good offers list from schools like Michigan and Ohio State. kid was a DT but over the summer lost a big mass amount of weight to get into better shape and now probably is a DE in college. our irish are killing it in PA for recruits as most of the elite kids right in that state are snubbing PSU and Pitt and choosing our irish
Ara, thanks for sharing. The timing and quality of this commitment could not have come at a better time. Here I am worrying about losing quality commitments, and up steps Donovan with his all in statement and saying ND can compete for the NC, all they need is some more firepower.
now i'm waiting to hear what some of the top CBs in the nation that were at the game are saying right now and if our irish still have a shot at them going forward after what they saw from the defense saturday
Yep. Need DBs ... was just looking at current roster and verbal commit list and see that we currently have 18 WRs on the team and 3 WR verbal commits. No DB verbals as of yet, and our current defense backfield is woefully thin with some guys like Tranquil playing out of position in an attempt to shore up the backfield.

A bunch of guys drafted into NFL. Player Development hasn't been horrible.
NFL takes great athletes - even go after sprinters and Rugby players - we have great athletes but there was little development on display against Texas and MSU.
Agree, the D looked like dog shit vs MSU and Texas, and the OL hasn't been much better. Young team, 3 games in.......we can get this thing back on track. Let's get to 4-2 for the Stanford game.

didn't know where to put this but reading that recruiting writer loy just put in a CB for our irish with Thomas Graham from southern california. I won't get too excited yet until I hear from the kid himself about how his official went this past weekend. I've followed this kid for some time now and trust me when I say that he can come in and start from day 1. kid is a borderline 5 star and top five rated CB wanted by everybody
BVG will do wonders with this kid. And he will be at ND as long as Kelly is at ND. He is Kellys guy.
well Ara64 I read a little over a month or so ago that that Thomas Graham's dad was all aboard after there visit this spring and that if mom liked her first visit for the mich st game that our irish would have a good shot with him. moma Graham told rivals that this weekends visit was hands down best visit so far. i'm wondering if all of these elite kids that were at the game Saturday aren't thinking that they could come in and play right away with the way our defense played

If I were their high school coach...and most of these kids do turn for advice....
I'd say look elsewhere because everything I taught you over the last three years will go out the window.
I'm not being sarcastic...if I were their coach and they are on defense I'd tell them exactly that.
Ara, if I was a highly recruited young defensive player, I would see ND as a great opportunity for immediate playing time. Yes BVG sucks as has been posted by nearly everyone here, but the tradition and the degree and the opportunity to play as a true freshman on national TV every week will hopefully appeal to a few elite talents in positions of need.

Exactly and unless I was coming here specifically for BVG I would likely be realistic knowing he will be gone well before I graduate.
