Aaron Banks is Irish

Here's some of his highlights:

The 1st thing that sticks out is he's HUGE. According to 247 HH told him he's going to need to lose some weight and according to Eric Hansen he's already telling people he's down to 310. Regardless, he already looks like a stud on the field even before getting in shape. Imagine how he'll perform when he starts to build up muscle and endurance.

Lots of body fat ....needs some conditioning.

And another human with professional measurables who'll get drafted to play on Sunday because of the measurables....

In the process he will sort of hit a plateau or possibly regress and Brian Kelly by those Brian Kelly apologists will be applauded for sending another to the NFL.

Good signing though.

Are you saying Brian Kelly got them to the NFL instead of mother nature?

Quit being a naive kiss ass. Brian Kelly is garbage. The coach of regression. Period.

That is exactly what I am saying. You're a dope!

And you're the very reason Notre Dame will continue being pretenders.

In all seriousness if you think it's Brian Kelly who got these players into the NFL and not their god given blessed ability... well this is why apparently sucking continues to be accepted.

Every single player regresses under him.

You're dumb. Just ****ing dumb.

A little over the top to say every player regresses under Kelly. I was with you on the measurables for Sunday, and then you lost me on your regress assert. Personally, I think Kelly is a pass first finesse scheme coach, and he wants his OL to be pass protectors first and foremost, and Harry focuses on these techniques first and foremost, and Longo follows suit with adding strength and bulk. While this helps distinguish these guys as being more NFL ready, I think it hurts them in the faster college game, and detracts from being dominant run blockers. Banks is a great pick up at a critical time, but hope to see him two years from now with a lot less fat and more muscle.

Nice addition. This is what we have from the last 4 years.

247 says that Hansey is No 4 OG, Banks 19 at OT, Lugg 21 and Gibbon 42.

2016 was Kraemer, Liam and Boudreaux.

2015 was only Hoge and Ruhland because Tillery plays DT.

2014 Nelson, Bars, Byrne and Mustipher.

I think we are short on center but Mustipher has 2 more years and I am hoping Boudreaux can play center.

13 in 4 years is a good number since so many play 5 years. HH has said he wants 5 this year.

I have read that OLmen's transition to college is tough to predict. They are used to overwhelming opponents in HS because of size and that disparity disappears in college. Also the heavy lifting and physical pounding leads to injury.

My view is that you need 17 on the roster to get the 7 to get through a season. 5 drop out due to injury or are unable to make the transition. 5 are larvae waiting to graduate to the next stage. The next stage is the 7 you need to get through the season.

And Brian Kelly is the reason you are a nitwit.

Why is it sooooo hard on this forum to state an opinion WITHOUT all the name calling. Try to be mature about replies.I miss ND 35.

Sorry, you can't have it both ways. If you are going to blame Kelly when a kid doesn't pan out you have to credit him when a kid does. And there have been several posts refuting the silliness of every player regressing under Kelly.

There's enough ammunition to criticize Kelly without making stuff up.

Tru2irish....lot of posters here refrain from name calling, but the ones who don't are mostly loud and crude. Regardless, we should all post our thoughts and filter what we choose to read. Keep posting!

In this case I will have it both ways. Having said that...technically...I can't say Brian Kelly didn't have a hand in SOME getting drafted but you also can't factually dispute my opinion.
I've said it before and I'll say it again...

Actually a better way to put it is this...

There are far more players under Brian Kelly who actually play worse the longer they're under Kelly than ones who improve the longer they're under Kelly. That is not opinion or even disputable.

Think I'm wrong just answer one question...why do we have so many players get into action as a frosh, or soph, and show so much promise etc etc....only to become an empty jersey by junior and senior year.

Or not so much empty jersey but they still are noticed ...just now being noticed from horrible habits and shit fundamentals etc...

This is not a player or two but more players than not.
Sadly❕❗

You won't say regression because maybe Kelly helped a few get drafted which I dispute ...but I see many many many players REGRESS the longer they're under Kelly.
