Just read where a company is funding the tuition, etc, for every walk-on at BYU. This could lead to a very dangerous path...
Lets say Alabama strikes a deal with someone company to do the same. Suddenly the 25-player class limit is pretty much out the window. Alabama puts its top 25 recruits on scholarship then gets Company X to foot the bill for 32 more player - just a random number of 8 per year for 4 years. With even walk-ons now eligible for NIL benefits, Bama (or Clemson or THE Ohio State University) now can bring in top-ranked talent as "walk-ons" who end up with the same full ride - and benefits - as the 25 scholarship athletes in the recruiting class.
For all practical purposes the scholarship limits are now history... Good for the kids I suppose... Bad for college football as a whole...
