3 WR Portal Visiting

We need 2, preferably 3
Things aren’t THAT bad. By all accounts we still have 4 solid wide receivers returning next year if you count Colzie, with one freshman that should be ready to contribute immediately and 2 more that could be serviceable. If we get only one transfer and have 5 proven guys plus the freshman we should be ok. You’d ideally like 6 guys that you feel comfortable with at wr

Possible but not a done deal. You need 9 for a healthy wr room.

Colzie, Thomas, Greathouse make a strong starting group.

Faison back up slot

Kk smith likely still developing

Freshmen - Williams, Gilbert, saldate

That's 8. Not sure they take ten unless he's starting over group 1 or there is lingering injury concerns.

I'd rather see them cross train Devon Ford similar to Chris Tyree. We got a ton of backs with talent. Get em on the field.

10 is the ideal to me.

But starting the season with 9, 4 have never caught a cfb pass. Cant have that. We need 2 guys in the portal and if the young guys beat them out, great. But need 2

Ford is a transfer portal possibilty. Hes really not needed

You only need 10 if your going away from a pass catching te along with one attached, and that's not likely happening.

Mitchell Evans and Eli Rairdon are the other wrs.

9 is three deep...

If the oc changes the offense I could see the need for 10 but I don't see that happening. Or if smith is significantly behind in development . Again I'd rather have a dual threat rb.. we have like a million.

We went into this season with 9, 10 if you count faison

10 is a good number but you need those 10 to all be able to contribute if called upon, this year we weren’t prepared to handle injuries,

2 portal wrs seems like no brainer

We're taking 2 so we can go back and forth but the staff is trying to get 2

You want 10 because at least 1 will transfer or get injured prior to the season

This year we had Kaleb Smith retire and KK Smith miss the year

They are trying for 10 and want 2 WRs in the portal

Take 10 -- ND started out with 9 this year and look what happened -- had to add a 10th (Faison) -- and that does not count the other walk-ons on the roster

Thomas -- injured pretty much after OSU
Colzie -- did not play after game 3
Salerno -- did not play after game 1 or 2
Flores -- played and grew into his role
Greathouse Played, but was injured some
James -- deemed not ready to contribute
KK Smith - Did not play
Merriweather -- ineffective most of the year
Tyree -- played all year

Not one WR is returning from NDs roster other than maybe Faison, where when they are playing healthy, you know you got a really good WR. Thomas/Greathouse/Colzie just haven't proven it yet (thomas close)

Thomas is the only WR returning with over 20 pass catches, and he has like 40

You have 3 talented frosh coming in but no clue how mentally/physically/emotionally/technically ready they will be to play

Without portal WRs we are in worse shape heading into 2024 than 2023. If we get 2 good portal wrs we will be in better shape, and we could be in a lot better shape if Cam is all that.

2 good portal WRs and starting fall camp out with 10 WRs (even 9 if one transfers) is a good spot to be in.
