Notre Dame might have locked up it's top tight end target in the class of 2017 last week, when four-star tight end Brock Wright committed to the Irish on Friday, but if the staff wants to take a second tight end in the class, it has become clear that there will be plenty of options.

Denton (Texas) Guyer three-star tight end Brian Polendey was in South Bend last Monday.

Poldendey, who holds early scholarship offers from Michigan and Houston, recently transferred from to Guyer High, where he'll play alongside Rivals100 quarterback and TCU commit Shawn Robinson.

He said he made the trip to Notre Dame because he has always been interested in the Irish and he wanted to work out in front of the coaches.

"I'm Catholic and Notre Dame is Catholic, so I thought it would be cool to see what they're all about," Poldendey said.

The 6-4, 235-pound Poldendey is the sixth rising junior tight end with an FBS offer that has visited Notre Dame since April.

The others are...
4-star Brock Wright - Notre Dame commit.
4-star Jimmy Jaggers - UCLA, Michigan, Northwestern, Arizona State offers.
3-star Matt Dotson - Ohio State, Penn State, Tennessee, Wisconsin offers.
NR Cole Kmet - Ohio State, Baylor, Northwestern, Kentucky offers.
NR Keegan Cossou - Central Michigan, Toledo offers.
