23rd ranked irish vs #1 ranked villanova game thread

have seen several ranked teams play so far in this young season except villanova and so I can't give keys on who to stop but colson and vj have to continue to be the go to guys for our irish and have to each have a big game. vastoria needs to be on his game shooting wise also. I hear that villanova is really big inside and so rebounding worries me. game at 1pm on cbs

our irish can really run up and down the court this year compared to years past but again I haven't seen nova play this year and don't know if they are any faster than our irish. our irish do need to take quality shots like you said and make them. they seem to be playing better defense this year but nova will be the test they need to see just how good they can be

One thing I like about this year's team, they're not afraid to play defense aggressively. Probably because they're a bit deeper than in past years.

VJ's last shot, down two, was head scratching to say the least. When it was close they had four straight possessions where Bonzie and Vas weren't even a part of the offense. Whatev.

nova stepped it up a notch on defense in the last 8 minutes of the game and that was a big reason they won. our irish going cold shooting wise didn't help either. if our irish play purdue the way they played nova in the first half and early second half then they'll win next Saturday in indy

At the game great Villanova crowd sprinkled with Irish great energy in the building ND played tough needed that 3 to drop down 2 under 2 ... this team has promise with several good upperclassmen and some good young kids ... center position will hurt us against big teams ... Colson can't be expected to bang big guys on defense for 40 mins

Don't be an ass. Kids played there collective asses off against the #1 team in the country. ND did a great job and really showed they belong. Both players and coaches did a great job. Sick of all this negative shit on this board!!
