really looking forward to it! The year of change, hope and pride: s/b exciting!

OleTex, ND35, other long toothers just hang in there!

Go ahead. Wish your life away for something that is not guaranteed to you or anyone else. I choose to live in the now and not complain about it every waking second. Really now, if all this college football stuff played by young people is too much for some of you, maybe you should step away for awhile and take up a hobby that's less stressful.

I will root for ND football no matter how good or bad they are. I enjoy the game of football and I'm a huge fan of Notre Dame as a whole. I agree with what they stand for on and off the field and a bad season will never change that because I'm a fan and a fan is someone that is there through the thick and thin. I'm 35 and have never really seen ND win a NC. If one happens in my lifetime It will be a great day in my life. But if they don't trust me there are many things in my life that make it very enjoyable and bring me happiness. Does watching ND football make me happy? Yes it does and I enjoy it very much but at the end of the day it's a football game played by 18-22 year old young men.

seeing as how the 2017 season will likely be much the same and looking forward to the 2019 schedule (@UL, @ UGA, @UM, @STAN), I understand how 2018 looks decent by comparison.

There is no doubt in my mind that the "Never Kelly" crowd who live each and every day with this cloud hanging over their collective heads would gleefully predict a 2018 fail just for the "I told you so" moment, if in fact it does happen. But, we just don't know about 2018, do we? The crowd who boldly say that they are not watching anymore ND football this year....but they do. The crowd who wants Army to beat ND. I'm sure the players appreciate their undying support. The crowd who complained incessantly about the poor condition of the grass field. When turf was installed, the complaints started up about the stadium atmosphere until it was discovered that Irish fans would sell their tickets to opposing fans at the drop of a hat.....ooops .Then about the announcers. Then the complaints started hot and heavy about not having a Jumbo. That is being realized. Those who are going to see the Army game, go, have a blast, and support ND while supporting our troops. Those who are going with me to see Tech. Go, have a ball, support the players, spend money, eat good. None of this should be a drudgery.

I kinda think that watching a lot of college football games on God only knows how many chanels ,,that the people and students show up to root for their teams even though most of them have no chance at a conference much less a NC Championship . Just the idea of watching their college team play football l

And I know there are some people on this board upset that the Irish beat Army today. They are all in a dark place right now. Watching USC against UWash makes me aware that ND's game against the Trojans is going to be a tough one. I mean real tough.
