This performance against one of THE top offenses in the nation. A balanced offense more than capable to run and pass. For example

The Tar Heels ranked No. 4 in the country in yards per play coming into this game. 17 points, 298 yards, 5.2 yards per play for three-plus quarters against the Irish would rank No. 125, ahead of only Massachusetts and Kansas, one spot behind Notre Dame’s next opponent, Syracuse. Who just clocked a ball on 4th down to end a game in scoring position. After the QB took a horrendous sack on 3rd down with no timeouts.

Fans normally belittle, knock performances like this by pointing out who the opponent has played, lost to, etc.... But UNC QB will be drafted. He has averaged 299 yds per game for 21 games. This is NOT a small sample size. Doubtful anyone else is going to hold him to as few as 211 yards, not to mention only 7.8 yards per attempt, his lowest mark in the last 11 games.

Entering this Saturday, No. 1 Alabama gives up 359 yards per game, No. 3 Clemson, 349; and No. 4 Ohio State, 390 (not to mention 26 points per game, among other developing issues). The Irish, meanwhile, give up 303 yards and 16.7 points per game.

This defense with a offense that is well balanced and no one, not even the #1 team in the nation has stopped the running game. Especially at the end of the game in those critical 4 minute game icing drive scenarios.

On to Cuse, and a great opportunity to win at least 10 games in the last 4 years and 5 out of 6...

10-3
12-1
11-2
9-0 and counting.....
