What's happening to the First Amendment?

They've wiretap the AP (personal cell phones)
Cheryl Atkinson former CBS news correspondent had her home computer bugged . She paid to hv an independent expert examine it to determine if her emails were being subject to surveillance and the origins of the entity involved. The expert concluded that her and her husband's computers were comprised and that it was consistent with a govt agency. So yes there is quite a history of the Obama administration abusing power to encroach on free speech rights and the freedom of the press. Not to difficult at all to imagine them using same intelligence capabilities against a political opponent. Pattern and practice. Nixon was a boy scout compared to Obama. Only difference is he didn't hv a media determined to cover up his illegality and abuse of power. These liberals in media and in general hv become a farce and parodies of themselves.

Over their entire 8 year terms, or in their first month?

I assume you're not promoting #FactNews by using #AlternativeFacts, such as comparing the 1-month long stock market gaines under Trump to 8 years of gains under Obama and/or Clinton.

Right?

No. Comparing 8 years of Clinton/Obama to 8 years of Reagan/GWB. You can't tell anything from a two month period. Too small of a sample.

If Trump manages to best Clinton or Obama over 8 years, he should receive the same credit they now enjoy.

Shouldn't be hard to best Obama. Anything over an average annual GDP of 1.5% beats him. And a doubling of national debt with 95 million out of work is a woeful record

The topic was the stock market. I was responding to Shabak: "If you think Trump is doing a bad job, just look at the stock market. The stock market goes up when the public confidence is high and goes down when the public confidence is low."

I think Trump is doing well so far despite the seditious resistance he is facing

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows that 52% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Forty-eight percent (48%) disapprove."

If that's the comparison you're drawing, that's a more reasonable place to start then.

Though you would need to normalize the numbers when comparing presidents separated by as much time as Reagan/Obama, otherwise the comparison is completely meaningless.

Post a link to the normalized data, and then you'll be well on your way to establishing a point that isn't complete BS.

(Unlike the hysterically racist posts your were pulling out earlier...followed up by your pathetic denials that they were in fact racist, simply bc they were left-ist opinions...lol)

Well, that makes you and him.

Not at all.

That's just the narrative you (and much of the left-leaning media) want to believe.

Kill regulations, shrink the government, free up the private sector, create jobs...those were the main directives he went in with
(along with moving away from the hard-left "snow-flake" mentality)

He's done an decent job on those things so far.

I'd like to see him continue to focus on those area, forcing democrats to either get on board or face the loss of their final seat at the table (senate fillibuster) in a brutal 2018 electoral map.

Yes, his Twitter rants are surely making America Great. Politics aside, he is an idiot.

Here a few notes on Presidents and wire taps:

Obama Administration wire taps:

* The US National Security Agency bugged a private climate change strategy meeting; between UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon and German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin;
* Obama bugged Chief of Staff of UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) for long term interception targetting his Swiss phone;
* Obama singled out the Director of the Rules Division of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), Johann Human, and targetted his Swiss phone for long term interception;
* Obama stole sensitive Italian diplomatic cables detailing how Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu implored Italy’s Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi to help patch up his relationship with US President Barack Obama, who was refusing to talk to Netanyahu;
* Obama intercepted top EU and Japanese trade ministers discussing their secret strategy and red lines to stop the US “extort[ing]” them at the WTO Doha arounds (the talks subsequently collapsed);
* Obama explicitly targeted five other top EU economic officials for long term interception, including their French, Austrian and Belgium phone numbers;
* Obama explicitly targetted the phones of Italy’s ambassador to NATO and other top Italian officials for long term interception; and
* Obama intercepted details of a critical private meeting between then French president Nicolas Sarkozy, Merkel and Berluscon, where the latter was told the Italian banking system was ready to “pop like a cork”.

In addition to the above list we also know now that Obama wire tapped various individuals in the US media that were reporting information not flattering to the Obama Administration. It is widely known that Obama’s Justice Department targeted journalists with wiretaps in 2013:

* In 2013 the liberal Washington Post expressed outrage after the revelation that the Justice Department had investigated the newsgathering activities of a Fox News reporter as a potential crime in a probe of classified leaks. The reporter, Fox News’ James Rosen and his family, were part of an investigation into government officials anonymously leaking information to journalists. Rosen was not charged but his movements and actions were tracked.
* Also in 2013, members of the Associated Press were also a target of the surveillance. The ultra liberal New Yorker even noted that “In moderate and liberal circles, at least, the phone-records scandal, partly because it involves the dear old A.P. and partly because it raises anew the specter of Big Brother, may well present the most serious threat to Obama’s reputation.”
* Reporter Sharyl Attkisson said in 2014 that her personal computer and CBS laptop were hacked after she began filing stories about Benghazi that were unflattering to the Obama administration. A source who checked her laptop said the hacker used spyware “proprietary to a government agency,” according to an article in the New York Post.

That is some impressive smoke Beach. You think this is evidence that Trump's phones were tapped by Presidential order?

Shouldn't be hard to best Obama. Anything over an average annual GDP of 1.5% beats him. And a doubling of national debt with 95 million out of work is a woeful record

FACTS: "The stockmarket under President Obama rose more than 235%. And Mr. Obama left office with the economy registering 75 straight months of job growth, an all-time record."

Obama will go down as one of the better presidents who inherited a disaster and faced 6 years of stonewalling by the do-nothing Republican congress. Trump will have to close his lying twitter account (he's still going after Arnold!) and become a president. We'll see what he can do with the do-nothing Republican congress. So far he's done a lot to pollute our lakes and air.

Feel bad for our kids.

Wiretaps are Breitbart news constructed to put up a smokescreen to cover the fact that Trump and his people colluded with the Russians to steal our election.

But, yeah, Trump should appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the whole damn thing.

(*Then when we see his tax returns we'll know the truth.)

Yes, his Twitter rants are surely making America Great. Politics aside, he is an idiot.

Attempting to ignore policy positions in favor of twitter, as a method for analyzing presidential performance......hmmmm.....

Is this the new stance for the left?

"Who cares about jobs, deregulation, improving markets, national/inter-national security, creation of a reasonable judiciary......Twitter!"

Until the left learns that until they move away from the pure "snow-flake social issue and socialism" platform and start meaningfully and productively addressing economic issues....they're just going to keep losing elections.

I hate Trump's general demeanor, and I really liked Obama's.....but the Democratic party will never be able to convince me ignore the actual policies that they're forwarding, and vote simply on demeanor

And I'm one of the core demographics for the Democrats "emerging coalition of the ascendent"
(Young [under 30], college educated, post-graduate education, urban resident)

Personally, I'm hoping that the Democrats keep doing what they're currently doing, and wait until after Republican's secure a "Super-Majority" in the Senate, using the super-friendly 2018 map....before they "get it"

That would allow for some very quick, very sweeping "Pro-Economy" legislation to be put in place.

You should actually read those rules, and the incredibly shakey legal ground they were based on...and the incredibly dangerous precent (for regulatory overreach) that they were forwarding

The power of administrative agencies needs to be reigned in, badly.

Fortunately, it looks like congress and the executive are fully on board with that...and the judiciary could move that way very quickly as well
(as it's conceivable that Trump could name as many as 5 US Superme Court justices, and a virtual guarantee that he'll name hunderds of lower-court judges)

Obama had 75 straight months of job growth, an all-time record. I repeat. Yes, it was slow and the republicans fought him from day one. But the guy got it done.

So far, what has the Donald done? No plan for health care. What is the plan for the economy? -- allow companies to pollute the water and air -- and that creates jobs how? Diminish targets for gasoline.

The Chinese and Indians and Eruos are putting vast resources into renewable energy. That is where the jobs are these days.

Jobs are a lot of places. A LOT OF PLACES.

The less job killing, cost creating, regulation that you have...the better.

I'm not sure why lefit-ies have convinced themselves that you can't simultaneously have policies that promote coal, natural gas, and gasoline development....while also investing in Nuclear power...and "Renewable" power

There are jobs in all of them, and benefit from all of them.

Getting it done is 12 percent growth over 8 years? If we get much more of that getting is done we re doomed. You are concerned about the ecology and are using China and India as models???????????? China is the most polluting country on earth.

Let us look at some facts. In truth the old trickle down idea has proven to be false again and again. Bush/Cheney were very very business friendly as was HW Bush (not to mention their love of oil and the Saudis!)

19,662 Bill Clinton Democrat
-338 George W. Bush Republican
7,765 Barack Obama Democrat

DEMS: 27,427

Get to the bottom of what?

Who exposed the corruption of the Democratic party?
Why the Democratic party did have basic spam-filter level security, which is what protected the Republican party's email servers?

Who are "you guys"?

Beach:

Russia orchestrated the hacking of the Democratic National Committee and other political organizations of the Democratic Party. (they also had Republican emails but never released them!)
Those hacks resulted in the public release of thousands of stolen emails, many of which included damaging revelations about the Democratic Party and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the party's nominee. CIA announced to a group of top US senators its latest finding: that Russia's hacks were aimed at helping Trump.

They also created false news stories, etc.

But you seem to be okay with that. What if the tables were reversed? Would you be saying so what?

None of the others you mentioned Stu ( liberal hack) were ever Sec of State with a private foundation raising hundreds of millions of dollars from overseas govts. And none of them had authority to approve and then did approve the sale of 20% of the US Uranium supply to the Russian govt. Which then made in excess of a 100 million dollar contribution to their personal foundation. And none of them have had their emails subpoenaed by Congress as part their oversight of suspect conduct with an illegal private server jeopardizing national security as Hillary did. You do realize that your post doesn't even come close to internal consistency, right?

1. Where is trickle-down Economics coming from? Every policy that promotes job growth is nor "Trickle-Down Economics"?

2. You realize that many of Bill Clinton's policies are the types of policies (though not the exact ones) that I'm advocating for....which is why he saw strong job growth an economic success....right?

3. You realize there are events that your comically, childishly, over-simplified "stat" is just ignoring...right?
(You may have heard about 9/11, or the explosion and subsequent collapse of the ".Com Bubble")

I just love how the left thinks that they know what "is in everyone's best interest" better than American voters.........but they just can't figure out why they're losing sooooooo many elections

It's honestly comedic gold!

Yes. Releasing accurate emails that one party to an election wanted to suppress is fine with me. For example a private recording of Trump making shameful comments about women was released. That gave the voters more info. It was a true statement. it should have been out there The fact that the Democratic or Republican party wants these thing s hidden should not matter. This is the sort of thing the media get Pulitzer prizes for.

Right now the media is releasing information the Trump administration would rather not hear because of leaks. I assume you would stop this.

If the emails are authentic, the electorate should know about them. Whether they are provided by the Russians (and it was actually Wiki leaks at the supposed request of the Russians) or the New York Times in immaterial.

So you would rather the emails had remained secret. Is that your position?
