Allowing insta-transfers reflects the exponential acceleration of societal desire for immediate gratification and the commensurate unwillingness to sacrifice for long-term achievement. Obtaining a meaningful education is now an old fashioned notion. As the poster below points out, a lot of our transfers in and out have degrees. But across college football, that is increasingly rare. I know most players don’t care.

But it’s sad. There was a reason working to get an education made sense, and it makes more sense now than ever. The value of higher education has never been higher, because people change jobs and even fields today more than ever. But all that is out the window for a huge chunk of players, almost none of whom will ever make the league let alone have ANY money from the league left by the time they hit 35.
