Jeremy Birmingham, recruiting analyst for Dotting The Eyes, attended the St. Edward-Good Counsel matchup of top 25 teams in the country on Sunday.

St. Edward features a pair of Ohio State offensive line commitments, but it's also the new home for Notre Dame DE commit Loghan Thomas. Birmingham shared his thoughts on Thomas from the 28-7 St. Edward victory.

Here's the excerpt from the full story:

LOGHAN THOMAS IS AN INTERESTING PROSPECT

Notre Dame commit Loghan Thomas is back in Ohio after transferring into St. Edward last month and though he's still learning the defense for the Eagles his natural athletic ability made him one of the standouts on Sunday.

Thomas, the country's No. 7-ranked weakside defensive end, is listed at 6-foot-4 and 210-pounds but he looks to weigh less than that. It's the lack of bulk that makes him interesting as a prospect but also what makes it hard to gauge exactly how his game translates to the next level. Thomas was explosive though with a great first step and showed the ability to drop into coverage from his defensive end spot and rush the passer with equal comfort.

Ohio State needs edge rushers in its 2024 class but to this point there's been no Buckeyes contact with Thomas and it's probably unlikely to happen despite the fact that he's very talented. His game is similar to that of Miami commit Elias Rudolph but Thomas seems like a safer bet at the next level. He just needs some time in a big-time weight program to develop into the best version of himself.
