Post BG game--opponents review

If anyone watched any opponents spring games feel free to add those observations. Some thoughts:

Texas opener----A MUST win for ND. Should be favored.
@uva--ND win.
GT---Most physical game of 2015. Must win. BVG's defense is key.
mass--Win.
@Clemson--Most exciting away game since fsu. ND win.
Navy--Time to treat these guys as a big rival. If we beat GT---we beat navy.
socal---Payback baby.

BYE--If ND is 7 &0 we are #1.

@temple---Fuller dominates. I and many ND fans will be at the Linc!!!!
@pitt---tough, tough game. Narduzzi will do well here...defense--boyd---conner. Run defense needs to play tough. ND win.
Wake--ND win.
BC @ Fenway. Trap game......ND win.
@Stanford. Just like 2012...ND clinches PLAYOFFS in cal!!!

IMO barring any surprise departures over the summer only turnovers and poor defense will stop the 2015 IRISH. I'm more worried about defense vs GT & Navy than anyone else. BVG better get it done.

Texas is over-hauling the entire team.
Texas is traveling
Every Texas weakness is weaker than any ND weakness
Every ND strength is stronger than any Texas strength

An upset here would be gargantuan in scope!

I like your enthusiasm. I think a key to our season is our "quality of QB play." If we can get top-flight quarterbacking, I think we have a real chance even in our toughest games. If our QB play is not strong, then we're likely to go 8-4 or worse IMO.

Nicely said. I think we'll clearly be favored vs. Texas, like by 10 points or so, but Charley Strong is a fine coach, I think most will agree, so it will be a real challenge for us. I expect a ND win, but in a very, very hard-fought game.

Two possibilities likely: EG has a real HEISMAN caliber season........or......MZ has a Kevin McDougal type year except beats BC!!!

Either scenario is GREAT for ND!!!

I believe the Irish are favored in the opener by 13 right now in the places that have a betting line.

I agree. They still have some talent, and Strong is a very good coach. Now in his 2nd season, they should be improved over last year. So while the Irish should be solid favorites, I'm still looking at it as a tough game, certainly not a gimme.
