On this date in 1941, Japan attacked the Naval base at Pearl Harbor Hawaii and the Army Air Corps base at Hickam Field. Bringing the USA into WWII.
My uncle was on Hickam base as a Medic. He spent the next year or so helping the wounded then recovering bodies from the attack. His brother served on a Destroyer that saw the flag raising on Mt Suribachi and later survived a kamikaze attack off of Okinawa. To my uncle's and the greatest generation thank you.
