The University of Notre Dame earned the 2022 Men’s Capital One Cup in 2021-22, edging the University of Texas 78-73 in the final standings released this summer. It marks the second time the Irish have claimed the Cup title on the men’s side and Notre Dame becomes just the fourth school to claim multiple titles in the competition’s history.

The Notre Dame athletic department will receive a donation of $250,000 towards its Student-Athlete Scholarship Fund as a result of the first-place finish.

How the Irish men’s teams compiled the 78-point total:

Soccer – No. 4 final ranking in national poll (24 pts)
Baseball – No. 5 final ranking in national poll (18 pts)
Lacrosse – No. 6 final ranking in national poll (15 pts)
Fencing – National Championship (10 pts, co-ed sport title)
Football – No. 9 final ranking in national poll (6 pts)
Hockey – No. 8 final ranking in national poll (3 pts)
Cross Country – Ninth-place finish at NCAA championship meet (2 pts)

Notre Dame last claimed the men’s Cup title in 2013-14 and joins Stanford, Florida and Virginia as the only schools to claim multiple Capital One Cup trophies.
