Pat Kavanagh tied his own single-game record of 10 points Saturday in Ann Arbor, Mich., as the No. 2 Notre Dame men’s lacrosse team smothered No. 20 Michigan, 18-8.

The Irish (6-0) host No. 1 Virginia (6-1) next Saturday at noon EDT (ESPNU). Notre Dame will likely move up to No. 1 on Monday when the polls come out after No. 4 Maryland edged the Cavaliers on the road, 14-13 in overtime, on Saturday.

Kavanagh scored a game-high four goals with six assists. Younger brother Chris Kavanagh added three goals — his sixth straight game this season in which he’s scored three goals or more. He has 21 goals on the season.

Liam Entenmann had 11 saves and Alex Zepf two for the Irish. Michigan falls to 4-3.
