Notre Dame men's basketball will officially start the Micah Shrewsberry era tonight with the 2023-24 season opener against Niagara.

The Irish defeated Division III Hanover, 96-62, on Wednesday in a home exhibition. The Irish will host the Eagles, who finished 16-15 last season, at 7 p.m. EST in Purcell Pavilion.

In Wednesday's exhibition, Notre Dame's started five consisted of new faces: freshman guard Markus Burton, freshman guard Braeden Shrewsberry, junior guard Julian Roper II, sophomore forward Tae Davis and sophomore forward Kebba Njie.

Roper, Davis and Njie transferred to Notre Dame in the offseason from Northwestern, Seton Hall and Penn State, respectively.

Burton led the Irish with 18 points. Shrewsberry and fellow freshman Logan Imes joined him in double digits with 14 points. Senior Matt Zona and junior J.R. Konieczny each added 12 points off the bench.
