Here are tonight's Lucky Charms...

*** I learned today that Baton Rouge (La.) University Laboratory School class of 2023 linebacker Jaiden Ausberry will be unofficially visiting Notre Dame June 4-6, but the visit has actually been set up for a few weeks. I am stunned that a prospect the caliber of Ausberry, who is the nation's No. 24 recruit per Rivals and holds offers from the likes of Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Texas, USC and others, would take a trip from Louisiana up to Notre Dame despite not holding an offer from the Irish. If his grades are in order, I'd be even more stunned if Ausberry left Notre Dame without an offer. This seems like the type of prospect Notre Dame wouldn't have been able to get on campus pre-Marcus Freeman, and they haven't even offered yet.

*** Here are notes on Notre Dame targets in the 2022 class visiting elsewhere today ... Five-star offensive tackle Zach Rice unofficially visited North Carolina today, as expected. The Tar Heels are considered by most as the team to beat in his recruitment. He'll see Notre Dame at the end of the month ... Running back Emeka Megwa was at Missouri today. He's one of those plan B RB targets for the Irish ... Wide receiver CJ Williams took an unofficial to USC. Read my story on him from this morning by clicking here ... Defensive back Jayden Bellamy took an unofficial visit to Rutgers, his father's alma mater ... Offensive lineman Carson Hinzman was at Alabama for an unofficial ... Offensive lineman Drew Shelton unofficially visited Penn State, the school he's currently committed to. He will return to PSU June 18-20 for an official. Notre Dame would love to host him as well.

*** Here are some Notre Dame June visitors to report...

St. Louis University High 2024 wide receiver Ryan Wingo: Holds several early offers, including Notre Dame, which he received May 13 from offensive coordinator Tommy Rees. Will camp for Irish Invasion June 6.

Folsom (Calif.) 2023 tight end Walker Lyons: Four-star recruit with over 20 offers, including Alabama, Michigan, FSU, LSU, etc. He's visiting a ton of schools in June and already has many powerhouse schools on his offer sheet but wants ND. He'll be in South Bend for Irish Invasion June 6. Talking often with special teams coordinator Brian Polian.

Wilmette (Ill.) Loyola Academy 2023 quarterback Jake Stearney: Will camp at Notre Dame June 22. Does not hold any offers just yet.

Scottsdale (Ariz.) Saguaro 2023 cornerback Carlos Griffin: Holds an early offer from Syracuse. Will also camp at Arizona, USC and UNLV.

Brownsburg (Ind.) High 2023 tight end Leighton Jones: In-state recruit who does not hold any offers yet. Listed at 6-4, 245 pounds. Will camp at Notre Dame tomorrow, June 3.

Columbus (Miss.) Heritage Academy 2023 quarterback Mack Howard: Four-star recruit and nation's No. 100 overall prospect. Offers from Kansas, Louisville and Middle Tennessee State. Camping at several schools in June, including Notre Dame June 17.
