I'm looking at the CBS predictions. All seven of their experts pick Notre Dame to cover the spread. But three of them pick Ohio State to win straight up. That means that they are predicting that Notre Dame will lose by one to three points.
I wonder what odds Vegas would give on that happening? Maybe 50 to 1?
All that strangeness aside, I like to see four out of seven CBS experts picking Notre Dame to win outright. And it would seem that the other three want to pick Notre Dame but can't quite bring themselves to do it. I can't think of any other reason why they would restrict their predictions to succeed in a range of just three points.
