David Glancy doubled three times and homered in six at-bats, drove in five runs and scored four to lead Notre Dame to a 15-8 romp over visiting Pittsburgh, Sunday in ACC baseball action at Eck Stadium.

In the process, the Irish (24-21, 8-18) vacated last place in the ACC’s Atlantic Division and would be the 12th seed in the 12-team ACC Tournament, May 21-26, if the season ended today. Notre Dame has four more league games left, including the rubber game of the three-game Pitt series that concludes Sunday with a 2 p.m. (EDT) start time.

The two ACC teams with the worst records do not make the league tournament field. Pitt (19-23, 6-17) remains one of those after the Irish scored a season high in runs in league play and missed matching their overall season best by a run.

Glancy’s home run, his team-leading 13th, came in the sixth inning. Second baseman Estevan Moreno hit a three-run shot in the first, his 12th, and pinch-hitter Nick DeMarco got his first of the season in the eighth.

DeMarco, Connor Hincks and Simon Baumgardt each drove in two runs for Notre Dame. Tobey McDonough (3-2) got the win in relief, giving up two unearned runs in his two innings of work.
