The Falcons trade up to get him, and lost a starting safety to free agency, so he is in a good spot. Just seemed to come out of nowhere and always exceed expectations. Love this kid and hope he has a long and healthy career. Looking forward to some NFC South Bucs/Falcons action!

I stayed up long enough to hear Watt's name called! From reading X, it seems like the Flacon fans are enthusiastic about the pick! Go be great, X!

I was a little surprised to see 5 or 6 safeties go off the board before X. Too often NFL teams value measurables (40 time, vertical jump, broad jump, 3-cone drill, 20-yd shuttle, etc.) over how the player actually performed on the field. You don't have to watch much of X's tape to see what an instinctive, natural safety he is. You don't make 13 interceptions in 2 seasons without having a nose for the ball. While measurables are certainly important, performance and character are equally important. I think the Falcons are going to be very happy with this pick. Hope to see X tear it up in the NFL.

Did you see all the S picked ahead of Watts play? I'm sure the NFL coaches and staff did.

Maybe, Al Golden was a big factor in X's numbers.

No, I certainly did not. I don't claim to be the second coming of Mel Kiper, Jr., but every year I like to read write ups about the draft, and this year X was pretty universally considered to be the second or third best safety in the draft, hence my statement that I was surprised to see 5 or 6 safeties come off the board before X. Maybe the pundits who evaluate talent were all wrong, but I guess we will see. I only know I watched X play the safety position as well as any other safety I have watched play at ND, and that goes back almost 60 years. In my book he was a pretty special player. I guess you hold a different opinion?

4.56 is a decent 40 time; although that was not near the top 10 times for safeties at the NFL combine. 6-0 is decent height, that said, a little undersized for Sundays. Who knows what happened.

Fall in love with the measurables and get burned…Kyren sure is a slow, short prob bowler. Watch the tape NFL, these dudes aren’t in the track and field games and don’t play in bikinis

Interview to be an NFL GM next season.

I’m good, how’s your application going for board moderator? You’re well on your way to running this place into the ground like Gav did to your once great state!
Think about it. Solid 7-figure salary, up to 7.5 million a year for the best NFL GM's, you would be great.

Good post, you know you've done well when the cooler shows up and says something stupid. Measurable's are obviously a very important part of this, but Jerry Rice was clocked at 4.7, and he did all right.

I can't remember a ND defensive player find the ball better than Watts. If he was two inches taller he'd have been a 1st round pick, but my guess is he'll provide 1st round value for a long time. Great pick by the Falcons.

Which one is used by Mattthew McConnaughey?
I believe Matthew used the term in its colloquial sense, hence the correct usage was "alright." ZibbyQuinn, on the other hand, who is clearly on top of his game when it comes to usage of the English language--Professor Kingsfield comes readily to mind--was using the phrase in its more formal sense, thus "all right" would have been the proper usage. That's how I see it, anyway.
