Vegas opens the line on OSU vs. ND

I could see the kicking game continuing to haunt us from OSU. No doubt that is a huge worry after the spring game. 30 yard punts do not turn the field and missing FG inside the 40 is not a good sign.
Neither specialist that will start was here this spring

I still don’t see how they can create a line so far in advance when so many things can happen to both teams before kickoff !

Time will tell !

I thought Groupe was the specialist we pulled from Ark. St. He was definitely there, was 1-2. Success on a 30 yarder and missed on a 40 yarder. Even the PAT's were not pretty.

I see we have a walk-on coming in from Columbus, unproven frosh. Maybe I missed some others. If we go to battle with what i saw in the spring game, we are in trouble. I think we were 1-4 in easy FG's which is really bad for a spring game with no pressure or rush, and I would be surprised if we averaged over 35 yards in punts.

The rest of what I saw (outside of Drew at QB) was positive.

Well I think we know what it won’t come down to. It’s not going to be because Mayer and Foskey suck. It’s not going to be because we don’t have capable running backs with huge depth. It’s not going to be because Harry H. is a bust. It’s not going to be because we heavily overrated our LBs and their depth. It’s not going to be because Styles or Lenzy failed to get open and just aren’t D1 receivers. It’s not going to be because Buchner is just not a good runner and should only pass. It’s not going to be because Tyree is slow and can’t return kicks. So I think that narrows it down a little. It’s not going to be because we lost Hamilton and Joseph is a huge bust.

Threats = kickers are dreadful, corners are suspect, QBs arm and experience has been a question we haven’t answered. Conditioning was an issue against Ok State. That surprised me with Balis. I don’t expect to see that again. Youth at the HC position and big moment decisions.
Again, no one knows WHAT it will or WON'T come down to. In fact, there's NO KNOWING before the event. Especially in a season opener against a recently powerful team. We don't even know who will take the field.

Look at the Kentucky Derby.

While your assumptions are REASONABLE, they're in no way PREDICTIVE. So, when you say "we know what it won't come down to," you're merely speculating.

Guessing.

Which seems to be about 85% of what people do here.

To each his own.

Nobody knows that Bama would beat The Citadel. Nobody knows that we’re not living in a simulation.

No more guessing -- we have a prime time showdown!

Notre Dame at Ohio State is set for Sept. 3 at 7:30 p.m. on ABC in the main primetime slot. Arguably the most impactful game in September, the Buckeyes open up at home against OSU alum and first-year Irish coach Marcus Freeman. Notre Dame brings in one of the best offensive lines in the nation while Ohio State hopes to reclaim its No. 1 ranking in total offense from a year ago and improve a defense that was costly in losses to Oregon and Michigan last fall.

It does not get bigger than this in CFB. Night game. Top 10 matchup. Prime time. Game day. Season Kickoff. Two of the most storied teams in CFB history. Gonna be some monster numbers.

Let’s play a double header!

Correct. Unless and until it happens no one KNOWS that it will. In terms of CERTAINTY, the two have no actual relationship other than in one’s mind.

We PRO-JECT probabilities into certainties by making either EDUCATED or ILL-CONCEIVED guesses. What else can we do? Existence is a risk a second.

Even with BLOCKCHAINS, there’s no real PROOF that a new block has been validly created. And that goes for both “PROOF OF WORK” and “PROOF OF STAKE.” It’s more like insurance – reliant on the law of large numbers.

And there are, of course, numerous examples of things occurring “WE KNEW” could never happen. Appalachian State beat UM some years ago. Olympic Decathlon Gold Medalist, Bruce Jenner, decided he was a woman. Some men now get married to men; and some women, to women. We’ve run out of BABY FORMULA.

The game isn’t over till the FAT LADY SINGS, let alone before it’s even started.
