Robert E. Lee was 0-2 when he invaded the North during the Civil War (okay, the War of Northern Aggression mind you). I think Bama won once in Happy Valley. And Georgia won at ND a few years back. What else? It was 15 degrees this morning in South Bend.

Bama won a few at PSU in the 80s during a 10 game series in which the Tide took 6. One of those was a November game against a good PSU team, have to tip the cap to them on that one.

Bear Bryant brought his team to South Bend in November 1976. Turned out to be a balmy 40-plus degrees, but ND won 21-18.

OP seems to have forgotten that Texas kicked Michigan's ass in Ann Arbor and that Bama kicked Wisconsin's ass in Madison just a few months ago.

I don't know if it's the best omen to be citing the civil war. We don't even know who we're seeded against yet.

Two asses that were eminently kickable

I dont see the weather as an issue unless you get to snow and towards the 10 degree mark. Football warms you quick, I played in IL through college and you just dont notice much at lets call it 35 and above...maybe 40...just feels good....

You get into the snow and a zero day, you feel that crap and its tough....balls hurt...ground hurts....you cant wait to get warm...that is a huge advantage for ND

Gotta take wind chill into account as well.

I don't know, I think SEC teams openly hate cold weather, and it's an issue for them. When it's not an issue is when you live in northern Indiana, let's say, and not only play and practice in cold weather as a regular thing, but also just live in it on a day to day basis. So I definitely think, on average, it's a big advantage. Or can be. I guess it just depends on how cold it is or not. It can get cold enough that even the home team can be put off by it.
