Thank you Women of Troy

JuJu is so freaking good. 8 blocks! She took the game over in a Jordan way! Not only scoring but blocked like six shots in the last ten minutes. Steals... JuJu Watkins is the first player with 35 points, 5 blocks and 5 assists in a game in the last 20 seasons across all DI. She's also made 6 3s, has 11 boards, 8 total blocks. Really good teams this year.

seems pretty clear that she is gonna be player of the year
Though like Clark the last two, her team is probably not good enough to win it all

the women about to be #1 is so great. I really worried when Muffet left; was not totally sure about Ivey; but like Freeman she grew into the job.

Sadly, though, the womens success stands as a stark contrast to the mens debacle.

For a moment I thought this was a sweater girl appreciation thread.

She’ll have to beat out hurricane hannah
Yeah, the head to head match up between those two was really lopsided in Hidalgo's favor. It's about the full season, I know, but I still think Hannah is the favorite for POY.

The rankings should be interesting. Frankly, we don't deserve the #1 spot based purely on resume. Texas has the same record against a tougher schedule and UCLA has one less loss with a similar SOS. The voters seem to recognize that both of our losses came in strange circumstances in an international tournament, though, so hopefully we take the top spot.

If it were based solely on who is playing the best ball right now, we would be a unanimous #1.

I was kinda hoping for a Notre Dame-undefeated UCLA national championship game...memories of 1974...
