I thought it was Army, but now there's extra buzz around Navy. So I don't know who to fear more. And these are our best two opponents left. So F USC....

If we lose to one, we willlose to both. And throw in usc. Must be navy

Apparently Navy has this new fangled state of the art hybrid offense, consisting of both parts of the venerable wing t and the contemporary spread offense or something like that. And so like it's a new thing on the scene and thus is hard to defend. And their scoring record in the red zone is off the charts. Or whatever, still on the charts, but almost literally 100% effective, and that's 100% TDs converted in the red zone. Not just FGs. And they've only not a scored a TD a single time. So that's impressive. Or maybe it's Army that has that track record.

Sounds like yard ball with a running qb.

Navy may be good but their schedule has been weak so far.

Just from years of watching Notre Dame teams, I'll say if we beat Navy handily, we'll struggle mightily against Army and vice versa.

That's true. But their game is so late on the schedule when it comes to unwinding the playoff field. Doesn't it take place after championship weekend?
The army/navy is always the “ last” game of the regular season so to speak . It is usually the first Saturday in December . The question was , who’s better ? Since they play each other , that should answer the question. I don’t even want to think of the possibility of ND losing to one let alone both. But nothing is out of the question as we have seen. I’ll be happy with a win tomorrow. Any kind of win will be fine with me.

Well yes, I suppose. But I just noticed that, without having consulted the schedule in detail. They're in the same conference, so how would that affect the season standings in the American conference or whatever it's called, with the regular season well over at that point. And conceivably a playoff resume on the line for both of them. I'm guessing it was scheduled as a non-conference game, or even almost a sort of exhibition game, even though they're both in the same conference. Gotta love realignment.

The Army Navy game may be repeated if they meet in the conference championship game. Lol conferences.

Right, exactly. That's a total, distinct possibility. In fact almost likely. It's not really conferences that are fault however. It would not be difficult to have an arrangement of conferences that didn't include an absurd scenario like this. Really, it's only the sacred tradition of Army and Navy to play their big annual rivalry game at this late date on the football calendar that is creating this very possible situation. And they we never in the same conference before. I don't know, maybe there were and it just never came up.

In fact it's so absurd that they would play each other in back to back weeks. Yeah, so there's that....

Navy probably has the better team but that Army QB is a monster
Against a bunch of nobodies. Let's put this in perspective please. ND should completely dominate Army the way they did Navy. The talent disparity is too great for any other result.

I do not think Army will turn it over like Navy did.

I'm not saying that, but propping up a team believing they are going to give ND trouble, and claiming Army has the #11 ranked defense in college football is stupidity. If ND struggles against Army, its from lack of preparation, focus, coaching or a combination of all three.

Sometimes the underdog wins, and not necessarily because the favorite was unprepared, unfocused, or not well coached.

And that is one of the glorious things about sports.

I just want Army to still be undefeated. And then let the chips fall where they may!

And I want Army and Navy to play twice, in back to back weeks. That definitely needs to happen. So they better finish 1-2 in conference play. I assume that's possible if that's how it plays out, first they play in the AACCG, then they play in Philadelphia like they always do.

or just maybe on that particular day they play better?
Play over their heads athletically?
lots of possibilities that you seem blind to.

Army leads the FBS in time of possession.

My gut says the Navy defense is better than Army’s but Army’s QB is better. They’re such similar teams.

I think Navy beats Army even though Army will likely give ND the better game. Navy already notched a relatively big win over Memphis so that’s how I’ll separate the two.

Tulane has shown themselves to be a quality team so they might be able to knock off Navy and take their spot in the AAC title game.

Army is still unbeaten. I think the first time they have been unbeaten in November since the sixties; maybe even earlier.
those looking down on them are looking dumber and dumber
Overall I think Navy might be a little better but Army's QB is definitely better.
We better have our chinstraps on tight for that game.

Ugh. Lost 24-10. What the heck happened. It was supposed to be a 10-1 showdown with Army for a potential playoff spot. Navy can still win the AAC.

Navy losing to 3-6 Rice isn’t a surprise.

Golson will still tell us Navy is a good team.
