Boise State, San Diego State, Fresno State and Colorado State will be joining the Pac 12. I think they need two more schools to form a conference. Good for them.

They’re clearly inferior to the other conferences but maybe if they schedule strong out of conference, they can try to earn an auto-birth in the playoffs with the other Power conferences.

Not gonna lie. Washington State and SJSU QB’s look pretty darn good. Hopefully ND gets the passing game figured out. I think they’ll be alright. FYI…Ken Niamatololo looking to get SJSU to 4-0.

Stanford is a full ACC member, grant of rights and all. No easy way for them or Cal to escape depending on something happening with the Clemson/FSU litigation in the future.

Stanford isn’t interested in the PAC12. At all.

Honestly that is not a group that is going to garner any respect at all besides Boise State.
Pac 12 is the tiny dozen as things look now

I grew up as a huge PAC 8 fan and loved the rose bowl matchups against the big 10…albeit a USC hater whenever they played ND. Hard to get my head around what has transpired with USC and UCLA and Oregon and Wash joining the Big 10, and Stanford and Cal the ACC. With all the conference consolidation a few years ago, I would have bet that the PAC would pick off several Big 12 schools to create a monster conference to rival the Big 10 and SEC. But they got cannibalized instead, and this reemergence is a pathetic substitute.

If by some reason they could figure out a way to get Stanford and Cal and maybe add Memphis Tulane and maybe Gonzaga and St Mary’s, this would be a decent league. Particularly in basketball. But I’m not sure that’s going to happen,

When ND football stops looking pathetic, let me know.

Neither St Mary’s or Gonzaga have football teams. Someday we’ll hear what really happened behind closed doors with the PAC commissioner seemingly missing in action.

Ummmmm… I said that?

I didn’t interpret a distinction that neither Gonzaga or St Mary’s have football teams, only that their add would be particularly positive for basketball. Regardless, Stanford and Cal aren’t leaving the ACC unless the ACC implodes.

Stanford and Cal have zero interest in leaving the ACC.

What an embarrassment. WSU&OSU should sue to give back the PAC name.

Do not understand why Cal & Stanford didn't just go ahead and stay in the PAC 12 with Oregon State and Washington State. They could have had this conference realigned and done now. Both schools are at a tremendous disadvantage with the ridiculous amount of traveling they have to do.

After a couple of years, there will be pressure at Cal and Stanford to travel less and maybe rejoin a more locally oriented conference.

This is my hope for both the PAC and MW.
PAC
ORST
WAST
CSU
Boise
SDSU
USU
Fresno
Gonzaga (BB)
St Mary's (BB)
Stanford
CAL
UNLV
SMU
Tulane
Memphis

MW
Wyo
Nevada
NM
NMST
San Jose St
Montana
Montana St
NDSU
South Dak St
Air Force
UTEP
Hawaii

Not sure it will pan out but this would create two interesting conferences. PAC would elevate past the G5 and still be the weaker P5 conference in football but be especially good in Basketball.

It would be interesting to see the Montana and Dakota schools competing at the FBS level. I’m not sure how their other sports would fare or it’s possible to make the jump.

No one wants to be seen sitting at the little kids table.

I think the ACC should ask them to go back to the PAC 12. I really don’t want to see him in the ACC.
