For Tuesday to start after 4 more positive tests. No work on when or if practice will resume this week. ND has 0-2 Wake Forest This week, than a bye week.

so 4 more additional or are these the 4 that tested positive last week and didn't play on saturday? Not clear in the link

I believe new cases. This is the reason I said early in the summer the teams in the better spot are the ones who had a lot of cases before the season started.

They simply cannot push the game back to next week...... the one and only reason they cant is because I am going Antelope hunting in Wyoming.... I maybe planned that weekend (over opening weekend) because of the bye week. Anyone have Jack or BK's number?

ND/Wake Forest is now cancelled.

The stupid ACCCG makes a postponement into a cancellation. You cannot play conference games after a conf championship game. Just another reason the traditional independent model is better.

This is of course is no surprise and frankly was to be expected, but I kind of forgot about it what with the excitement of the season. At least we get a break from all the Book bashing.

Wow. So we have 13 players with CovID and another 10 in quarantine? We probably still could have beaten WF but hate to see so many players being infected.

I think that 12/12 is possible, with the ACC Championship moved to 12/19.

At least that is what has been mentioned with other ACC postponed games.

Hopefully, we can do that. That's why the ACC put 2 bye weeks into the schedule.

3:46 PM UPDATE: After talking with sources, the chances of Notre Dame and Wake Forest playing Oct. 3, the weekend both have bye weeks, is unlikely at this point. The number of players in contract tracing appears to be the problem, as players that are in the quarantine protocol for contact tracing are mandated to be out 14 days even if they test negative for COVID-19 every single day.

If that holds up, that would mean the players in quarantine because of contact tracing would place them out until the week of the Florida State game, and they would not be eligible to return the weekend of Oct. 3. According to my sources, there are far more players in quarantine for contact tracing than there are who test positive for the virus.

I hear about this with Baylor-Houston. I don't understand why someone tagged with "contract tracing" has to be out so long. After a few days of negative testing they could conclude the contact passed without transmission.

Yeah, someone with covid comes back faster than someone near the person who didn’t get it??? Call me confused.... must be concerned you can not show symptoms For 14 days but potentially have it.

Any news On USF tests?

i did not see athlete tests but did see that USF is top 10 in most cases for universities

Probably why conf stayed on conf.

i think Clemson having a full outbreaak long ago will be their blessing in disguise

Push the game back to October 3rd.....both teams have the week off.

With the testing protocols and quarantine periods, that may not be enough time -- most likely, assuming all goes well in the next round of testing, this game gets made up December 12

It's because the incubation period can be up to 14 days.

I said that in the summer

Exactly, that's just what I was thinking back in the summer. Clemson supposedly practically their whole team had already tested positive, and presumably were asymptomatic, and thus even with the very real potential for reinfection, would they not then coast through the season with no big outbreaks? Because they all already got it and were at least temporarily immune?

While ND, who's all responsible about shit, and had very few positive tests in the off season because they took care not to, would totally have to cancel games because the roster would eventually get decimated at certain points in the season, what with contact tracing and whatnot. And here we are.

Maybe it was intentional. Dabo Swinnery seems like a highly ambitious dude, who does have an MBA, so he's been trained to think all ruthless and strategically, and... wasn't he the guy who got all huffy about how there was going to be no asterik on this season, because... I don't even know what to say to that it's such a stupid, thoughtless, head-scratching thing to say... No asterik... right, Dabo...

But if it was him, then it shows how this guy was ready to make his move, and he wants that championship! So he's going to infect his whole team, and then bitch and pout which he's good at doing about how this year is just as legitimate any other year, and his team battle-tested so to speak, and he wins that sucker by default!

From John's Hopkins Hospital - Explanation of Covid-19 (finally and actually understandable)

This virus is not a living organism. It is a protein molecule (RNA or DNA) covered by a protective layer of lipid (fat), which, when absorbed by the cells of the ocular (eyes), nasal (nose) or buccal mucosa (mouth), changes their genetic code (mutates) and converts into aggressor and multiplier cells.
(1) Since the virus is not a living organism, but is a protein molecule, it cannot be killed.
(2) It has to decay on its own. The disintegration time depends on the temperature,
humidity and type of material where it lies.
(3) The virus is very fragile; the only thing that protects it is a thin outer layer of fat,
and that is the reason why soap or detergent is the best weapon. The foam CUTS THE FAT (that is why you have to scrub for 20 seconds or more, to create lots of foam). By dissolving the fat layer, the protein molecule disperses and breaks down.
(4) HEAT melts fat; this is why it is necessary to use water above 77
degrees for hand washing, laundry and cleaning surfaces. In addition, hot water makes more foam, making it more effective.
(5) Alcohol or any mixture with alcohol over 65% DISSOLVES ALL FAT, especially the external lipid layer of the virus.
(6) Any solution with 1 part bleach and 5 parts water directly dissolves the protein, breaking it down from the inside.
(7) Oxygenated water increases the effectiveness of soap, alcohol and chlorine, because peroxide dissolves the virus protein. However, because you have to use it in its pure form, it can damage your skin.
(8) NO BACTERICIDE OR ANTIBIOTIC WILL WORK because the virus is not a living organism like bacteria; antibodies cannot kill what is not alive.
(9) The virus molecules remain very stable at colder temperatures, including air conditioning in houses and cars. They also need moisture and darkness to stay stable. Therefore, dehumidified, dry, warm and bright environments will degrade the virus faster.
(10) UV LIGHT on any object that may contain the virus breaks down the protein.
Be careful, it also breaks down collagen (which is protein) in the skin.
(11) The virus CANNOT go through healthy skin.
(12) Vinegar is NOT useful because it does not break down the protective layer of fat.
(13) NO SPIRITS, NOR VODKA, serve. The strongest vodka is only 40% alcohol, and you need a minimum of 65%.
(14) LISTERINE is 65% alcohol.
(15) The more confined the space, the higher the concentration of the virus there can be. The more open or naturally ventilated, the less.

(16) You must wash your hands before and after touching any commonly used surfaces such as: mucosa (mouth area), food, locks, knobs, switches, remotes, cell phones, watches, computers, desks etc... and don't forget when you use the bathroom.
(17) You have to MOISTURIZE YOUR HANDS due to frequent washing. Dry hands have cracks and the molecules can hide in the micro cracks. The thicker the moisturizer, the better.
(18) Also keep your NAILS SHORT so that the virus does not hide there.

You posted misinformation. Here’s a press release from John Hopkins about the misinformation - https://hub.jhu.edu/2020/04/03/coronavirus-misinformation-rumors-social-media/

That's too deep for him to understand.
You said "From John's Hopkins Hospital - Explanation of Covid-19 (finally and actually understandable)", which is not true. I cited the John Hopkins response about the misinformation -- https://hub.jhu.edu/2020/04/03/coronavirus-misinformation-rumors-social-media/

What exactly is too deep for me not to understand? Your post was total bullshit. Go ahead a cite a credible source who stated that information. I'm eager to read it.
