its no coincidence that Oregon and OSU are both at the top of the sport right now. Michigan is in a rebuilding year and well on their way with the #1 overall composite player in the '25 class (Underwood) signed to their roster after a $10.75M investment.

Word is that $20-$30M is what the range is for teams investment on their roster in NIL in 2024 at the high end. Many think this number will only go up overtime.

Does anybody know what ND is doing to keep pace?

ND is clearly right there in the NIL game with their top #5 CFP ranking and top 5 rating in your stupid F+

So what's the issue? Why this post when ND is a top 5 program and on the verge of a playoff spot?

I can't see the powers that be letting this sport evolve into whoever throws the most cash around is the winner. That doesn't sound fun at all. It has to stop at some point.

If it goes that direction, I'll be out. No one will miss me, the sport most certainly doesn't need me.....but I'll be out.

"Whoever gets to $50M first wins" sounds stupid.

And for what's it's worth (likely nothing)- I think that if we play Oregon, we beat them up. Would love to see them in this bracket sometime in January.

ND is keeping pace by winning football games. ND is 10-1. ND is likely headed to the playoffs.

You see Notre Dame “…beating up…” Oregon?

I have watched every Oregon game. What do you base this on?

Unlikely Notre Dame will ever become so mercenary to "buy" players.

We play elite defense, and we run the ball at an elite level. I think that beats Oregon.

Go ahead......mock it. You're becoming predictable.
I was simply curious what you base it on. Oregon is a talented, well coached team IMO. QB is talented, outstanding WR’s. Physical on defense.

I don’t see Notre Dame beating up Oregon. I would simply hope to win.

Sorry

Remind who that one player was at $10.75M? Wasn’t that the guy you said was staying at LSU?

Doubt it. You say about Pedo and if you watched all their games you wouldn’t be so adamant they deserve to be above ND based on their loss to OSU in which they only scored 2 FGs on offense

Yawn 🥱

How they've looked in multiple games maybe he thinks we would do the same
You know damn well Notre Dame isn’t “..beating up …” Oregon if they play. How they’ve looked? Hell, every CFB team in America looks pedestrian on certain days. At least give 11-0, a win over Ohio St., and very possibly an undefeated Big 10 regular season title some credit where it is due.

They are a very good team and I would favor them slightly against ND. I don't think they are great nor the best team in the country. Is beating up Oregon likely, no it's not. Would I be shocked if we played and beat them up physically, no I wouldn't

Hmmm. Well, I would be. The 2024 OL at Notre Dame IMO isn’t good enough to beat up Oregon’s defensive front, and Oregon’s offense, at least in my observations, are too talented at QB, RB, and WR to be beaten up.

Could Notre Dame beat Oregon? Sure.

I guess our resident USC fan thinks Wisconsin is a better team than Notre Dame

Not surprised.
Oregon out gained Wisconsin 354-225, yet, you claimed above that Wisconsin beat up Oregon.
I don’t understand your contention; however, you do, so that’s all that matters.

A much less talented team held the offense you said couldn't be beat up to 16 points and 354 yards of offense

I’ve watched much much much less talented teams beat far far far more talented teams on their home field.

So what.

It started because you said that I know damn well ND isn't beating up Oregon.

I called out your bullshit

They aren’t. Won’t happen.,Oregon is too talented to claim Notre Dame would or could beat up a team such as Oregon.

Your characterization that Wisconsin beat up Oregon is ludicrous, even for you.

If Wisconsin could beat them up (they did) we certainly could
SMH.

Our Notre Dame advocate.

That said, it is a Notre Dame Foofball message board.

We will simply agree to disagree.

16 points. 354 yards. Had 6 points going into the 4th q. Beat em up

Nothing ludicrous about it. If Wisconsin can do that to Oregon, saying Oregon is too talented for Notre Dame to do it is beyond ludicrous

Even for an SC fan like yourself. I hope we get to play them because there are more talented teams out there that would be more of a problem for us than Oregon
