Northern Illinois?Where did you see that?
Have to be ready again to deal with some heat. Probably 100 degree weather
That's a rough start. Miami and Texas Am to open the season
Need to add a cupcake in there
No Thanks to Purdue every year, or Michigan St.Front loaded indeed. Pretty darn good schedule. They should probably schedule a lower group of 5 team for a 12th opponent since Boise State and Navy should be good G5 teams.
With the scheduling uncertainty in the future, I’d like to see ND playing Purdue and Michigan State every year. That’s two Power conference teams locked in every year that are right down the road and ND has history with them.
Florida plays Georgia, at Texas, LSU, and Mississippi in successive weeks starting Saturday..ND needs a true easy game week 2 or have a bye like purdue did in week 2. I don't love a week 2 bye though but this might be the right one to fully game plan for miami, then fully game plan for A&M.
I think you'll see October 11th bye, and November 15th Bye if they don't use week 2. If they use week 2, they most likely finish the season with 6 games in a row
Are there going to be any big time portal QBs? the Covid deal is over for the most part. Both teams will be breaking in a new QB. The question is does Miami go big time portal QB again?
Two weeks after A&M at home. Front loaded 2025 schedule.
No It's LAbor Day weekend.Wait... Does Miami get a bye before this game??? That would be so unfair!
Hopefully it's a night game. The heat/humidity that time of the year is no joke!
It was a joke in reference to other posters who complain about other teams having a bye before they play ND. As if ND has any control over that.No It's LAbor Day weekend.
It wouldn’t hurt ND much at all to schedule an FCS but I would be strongly opposed to it. I’d still rather play a lower G5 team and try to use that as strength of schedule arguing point…no FCS teams.IF ND Schedules an FCS team week 0 they would get 3 byes in 2025.
I'm hoping for Stanford-ND series to be renewed and continuing to finish regular season in CA. I'm very surprised it hasn't happened.5 of the teams on there are vying for a playoff spot this year. At Pitt and at BC not easy either. Personally, if you are gonna go easy game week 2. I'd play Indiana State. Screw it. The rest of that schedule is more than good enough. Especially if USC gets their act together.
I don't think you can get week 0 unless it's FCS team though. The week 0 gives them all the best byes the rest of the way.It wouldn’t hurt ND much at all to schedule an FCS but I would be strongly opposed to it. I’m inclined to agree with you that ND should keep Week 2 open between Miami and A&M. Do what you can to start 2-0 and gain some prestige. I guess it depends on who is still available.
I would just try to schedule Boston College or Pitt the following week. Get 2 road games done with and then you likely only have to travel 3 more times the rest of the year. I'm not a fan of an early bye week, as I doubt there are going to be that many injuries for players to heal from.It wouldn’t hurt ND much at all to schedule an FCS but I would be strongly opposed to it. Yep… you left off their fifth game fsu. No one does that early in the season figuring out there teamFlorida plays Georgia, at Texas, LSU, and Mississippi in successive weeks starting Saturday..
AgreeI just hope this isn't one of those Monday night games the ACC likes to schedule to open the season. Teams in those games have to either use up a bye on week 2 like mentioned earlier or accept that they'll play below their standard on week 2 with only 5 days to prepare.
We’re going to have an inexperienced qb, I’d like them to have an easier game in between personally to work some things out they find during Miami game (after win of course)It wouldn’t hurt ND much at all to schedule an FCS but I would be strongly opposed to it. That's why you play an FCS week 0. Then Miami. Then you have a week to get better after looking at 2 films. We’re going to have an inexperienced qb, I’d like them to have an easier game in between personally to work some things out they find during Miami game (after win of course)
GT and FSU played this year week 0. SMU Nevada too. ND Navy 2023. I’d prefer a weaker G5 team but I get the sense that’s not feasible Week 0.I don't think you can get week 0 unless it's FCS team though. The week 0 gives them all the best byes the rest of the way.
I agree. The preference is to have the off weeks later but two potential top 15 teams in the first three weeks is tough. Not unmanageable but A&M will likely be a handful. Will be interesting to see how the schedule shakes out and it probably more depends on who is available in what weeks.I would just try to schedule Boston College or Pitt the following week. Not sure why SMU Nevada played. But GaTech was overseas. And Hawaii is another one that you can play week 0.GT and FSU played this year week 0. SMU Nevada too. ND Navy 2023. I’d prefer a weaker G5 team but I get the sense that’s not feasible Week 0.

WhyACC is going to have to go to 9 conference games like everyone else. This will become a problem for ND after 2026.
I don't think the ACC has any say in who Stanford schedules non conferenceStanford plays at Hawaii in 2025 so they meet the bylaw and they only have 11 games scheduled. Not sure if the ACC would let ND play them. It would probably have already been scheduled if that were the case.
I've heard that, but why would ACC deny a ND-Stanford series? ACC only stands to benefit and ND advocated for Stanford and Cal to join the ACC.Stanford plays at Hawaii in 2025 so they meet the bylaw and they only have 11 games scheduled. Not sure if the ACC would let ND play them. It would probably have already been scheduled if that were the case.
Could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that was all Miami's doing. They just didn't want to play ND this year.ND has the five game agreement with the ACC so I’m not sure if ACC teams are allowed to schedule ND outside of that agreement. I’ve never read that before but I thought that was part of why Miami was dropped from ND’s schedule for 2024. That game was scheduled prior to the 5 game agreement.
I read that Miami ended up with 5 OOC games somehow so ND agreed to push it back. Not sure how that happens.Could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that was all Miami's doing. They just didn't want to play ND this year.
That works, we’d have 3 byes thenThat's why you play an FCS week 0. Then Miami. Then you have a week to get better after looking at 2 films.
Lets have a good quality schedule every year but don't schedule yourself out of the PlayoffsThis is great. If there’s one thing I agree with Chase My Balls on is this years schedule is garbage. Let’s play the best and not schedule a path to the playoff every year.
This year fell short of that in my opinion, didn’t meet the Notre Dame barLets have a good quality schedule every year but don't schedule yourself out of the Playoffs
