doesn’t SEC only require testing every 90 days? hmmm that would bea whole season.
great caring and concern there!

Article I read said they might try and play the game Oct 3rd since bot ND and Wake have an open date that weekend.

Makes no sense as they will still be without all the new positive tests and tracings so at minimum 13 players probably the other 10 as well as they may get cleared that week

They'll get the 10 back. So if they have 13 players out we'd still have 72 scholarship players and walk ons. That is plenty.

As long as you have 50 guys for a gane, you are fine

Which 50 might make a difference ... QBs, kickers, long snappers, o linemen are not really interchangeable

play a double header!
ND covids Vs WF covids
ND pre covids vs WF pre covids!

The incubation period for COVID is 2-14 days. There is no evidence anyone can pop positive within 48 hours of being exposed to COVID. For 7 players to pop positive within 48 hours of the USF game makes it virtually impossible that those players got it from the game. We already had 4 players test positive last week before the game, so COVID was already floating around within the team. Add that to the fact USF says all of their players that participated in Saturday's game tested negative before the game and negative again yesterday. it's pretty clear the 7 most recent cases were contracted within the team.

It's not that simple. If you have an entire position group in quarantine you might be in trouble even if you're only short 13 or fewer players. There's also the issue of the original 10 players from yesterday that will be missing time. The 4 that tested positive last week won't be able to practice at all for at least 10 days and I'm not sure they will be allowed to workout anywhere either, so conditioning might be an issue by Oct 3rd.

At least a few beat writers think that rescheduling for Oct. 3rd is a longshot. There's at least one that says behind the scenes the staff believes several more players will be added to the quarantine list through contact tracing.

Obviously, we'll know more within the next few days but right now it's not looking great.
