I've been nosing around reading many of the mock drafts available. Some are from those considered "experts" and others from random sites. Fascinated to see Rylie Mills as high as a 3rd rounder and in some full mocks I've seen not being selected at all. Morrison and Watts seem to be consensus 2nd rounders. Kiser, Leonard and Evans all 5-7 . Even saw one with Oben in the 7th. Cross was nowhere to be found. Nerve wracking time for those guys.

Unfortunate for him that his injury issues have hurt his draft stock. When healthy he was outstanding.

We need a CB2 really bad. Our other options are Rasul Douglas (aging, slowing) and TreDavious White (never the same after injury). Benford is great and Taron Johnson is a very good nickle corner. Morrison could potentially really help solidify our secondary.

Hell, we’ve got two second rounders. Take Morrison and Watts. Watts is almost undoubtedly better than Hamlin. Cole Bishop hasn’t done anything. I won’t complain at all if this played out.

1st rounder can be a BIG DT, although a WR would be nice (though not as preferred)

Lots of 2nd Rd type WR's in this Draft IMO. Golden , Burden , Egbuke, Higgins are all guys I think are around after Rd 1.

Would be shocked if Cross isn’t drafted, his size will hurt him but productivity will get him drafted in the 4th-5th would be my guess

Apparently Cross isn't going to be drafted, or at least there's some pre-draft buzz amongst the cognoscenti that he's a borderline guy despite being such a respected, impact college player for a dominant ND defense.

But what they don't know is he's going to be the next Aaron Donald.

Mills is definitely hurt by his late injury

Oben would be a shock if someone drafts him, he's just not good

Cross is just too small, and No, he's not a freak like aaron donald. Cross has a great first step to split gaps, but he at times really struggled vs the power run game.

Watts, Morrison, Mills, Evans, Cross, Kiser, Oben, Leonard... all will be drafted. IMO.... But not until late second round and later...

Ditto Cross

I wouldn't be shocked if Leonard went before experts say he will.

I'm picking him to be taken late 2nd day in Rd 3.

Nasty, wasn’t there “talk” about Cross being a likely third round pick before he opted to return to ND? Always thought that was wildly optimistic because of his size, but he played so well the year before last with his quick feet and hands, he seemed to overcame this concern. Last year was a definite down year for Cross, for a variety of reasons. Maybe a late round pick as a rotational piece in passing situations.

Talk means nothing unless it comes from an NFL GM, which never happens.
