ND must get better play out of these positions, especially from the defensive captain. Everyone was missing tackles on defense, but I expect linebackers to make 90 percent of tackles when they get shoulder pads on people. Not only were they missing tackles but they were getting carried for extra yards. I don't know if ND has played any dime defense but they might have to look into that with some of the teams left on the schedule. The linebackers really struggle in coverage.

Kiser stinks, JD is average, and Marist is average but playing better this year. Why Snead doesn't get more reps is frustrating.
Bertrand cannot play pass coverage at all. Kiser missed at least two tackles that should've been made. Bertrand got trapped by guards multiple times. Only Liafau llokded decent in this game.
Well they need him to blitz the QB and rush outside when hes in. Not utilizing him, sorry not a fan of Kiser

Bertrand's main problem is unnecessarily taking on blocks allowing backs to bounce out for nice gains.
Golden seems to prefer playing the older guys. So I'm guessing we have to wait
so marist now has played well when he's the main spy on the QB. He didn't play as well vs OSU when he had to be a traditional LB.

With that said, despite our issues, they are assignment sound so they still do a good job, just don't make a ton of plays. When they started making the mistakes in the second half and missing tackles, that's when Duke went on their run.

Against two quality teams the last two Saturdays, a combined 31 points given up is commendable.
I think they were good first half vs duke, the duke adjusted at starting pulling 2 linemen and devouring our lbs, and we had no adjustment other than cross/mills whipping their man and making a play. We finally made an adjustment on dukes last td and had burnham follow the pulling linemen and make the tackle, he just missed it.
