Freeman said its a knee sprain. Didn't hear a timetable for return. Just that he's out for right now.Just heard that KVA will be out vs Indiana also. What’s the story here with his knee ?
Yea -- Freeman was updating the injured players -- simply said KVA was out and no timetable has been set for his return.Man it would be nice if he can be ready for Georgia we need all the speed we can get against teams with more talent.
Whenever I hear about these injuries, I typically add a couple of weeks to the stated recovery time. See Schrauth and Cross, for example. If KVA takes that long to recover, I'm not he would be up to speed in time for a quarterfinal game."It does appear that if Notre Dame is able to take down Indiana, Viliamu-Asa would have a shot to play against Georgia in the Sugar Bowl on January 1. His timetable is around six to seven weeks, putting him right in contention to play against the Bulldogs."
Well what's frustrating is that even if he's ready, he'll likely have some rust and will have lost some strength in his legs, as it's very likely he's not doing any strength training.Whenever I hear about these injuries, I typically add a couple of weeks to the stated recovery time. See Schrauth and Cross, for example. If KVA takes that long to recover, I'm not he would be up to speed in time for a quarterfinal game.
I keep thinking back to his mom’s post after the injury. Thoughtful re the injuries and sacrifices these young guys make, but I also read into it that she wanted her son to take the rest of this year to heal, and to come back next season. Not at all sure the medical staff are holding him back from returning this year. Haven’t seen this speculated elsewhere, so probably me reading something between the lines that wasn’t there! But Freeman’s response brought this back to mind.Yea -- Freeman was updating the injured players -- simply said KVA was out and no timetable has been set for his return.
"Meanwhile, Freeman said linebacker Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa, a strong pass rusher and a big part of ND’s five-player linebacker rotation, has been ruled out for the Indiana game. Viliamu-Asa suffered a knee sprain early in a 49-14 win over Army, Nov. 23 in New York.
“I don't know when he'll return,” Freeman said. “He'll be out indefinitely [for] right now.”
When he said he's out for right now that said to me he is trying to get back deeper in the playoff and he'll be out for IndianaI keep thinking back to his mom’s post after the injury. Hope this proves correct. When he said he's out for right now that said to me he is trying to get back deeper in the playoff and he'll be out for Indiana
I just watched a Blue and Gold report on injuries, and Tyler Horka said KVA was in a full leg brace at the USC game, which leads me to believe we won't be seeing him this season.Hope this proves correct.
Honestly that doesn't mean anything. He could have got his knee scoped and he has a brace on. Could be 4 weeksI just watched a Blue and Gold report on injuries, and Tyler Horka said KVA was in a full leg brace at the USC game, which leads me to believe we won't be seeing him this season.
Did he get scoped? A knee sprain can be worse.Lol! Guys get scoped in the NFL
And return 3 weeks later
Hence Freeman's quote -- “I don't know when he'll return,” Freeman said. “He'll be out indefinitely [for] right now.” Truth is, no one knows anything at this point.I just watched a Blue and Gold report on injuries, and Tyler Horka said KVA was in a full leg brace at the USC game, which leads me to believe we won't be seeing him this season.
I would be very surprised if we made it to the semis that he wasn't back. I think the debate is the quarters if he could make it backUnfortunately feels like we see KVA in 2025 spring.....but, Sneed has stepped up big time......so we are ok at this point.
I think they can. Just choosing not to. Maybe KVA just values his privacy. Lol.Why cant they just say what the injury is? Why all the drama?
He isn't the only one. Tired of this lower body injury nonsense.I think they can. Just choosing not to. Maybe KVA just values his privacy. Lol.
Because it’s none of our business. Why cant they just say what the injury is? Why all the drama?
HIPPA only applies if treatment is done by providers who are not employed by ND. Assuming ND players are getting their care done by medical providers employed by ND, they're likely following FERPA rules.Because it’s none of our business.

What is the actual injury? It's too vague. He hurt his knee. What drama?
He hurt his knee. He will return when he returns. What is the actual injury? It's too vague.

Because we need him and it helps to know the seriousness. Tear or partial Tear or degree of sprain etc. Different injuries have different recovery periods. Of course you know this already. There could be more injuries especially playing on the icy turf Friday. We have too many key defenders hurt. No more cupcakes on the schedule. Why do you need to know exactly what is ? He hurt his knee
The general public does not need to know everything -- all you need to know is he is injured and his return is debatable and uncertain at this point in time. Why cant they just say what the injury is? Why all the drama?
One thing is for sure. Someone on this board knows. The general public does not need to know everything -- all you need to know is he is injured and his return is debatable and uncertain at this point in time.
