LSU was #10 in the CFP playoffs, before beating Bryce Young, Nick Saban and Alabama. I am going to go on a limb and say they have other things in mind, than playing ND in a Tier 2 bowl game.

Should ND stay clean vs Navy, BC and USC, and LSU slip up vs Arkansas, UAB, or Texas A&M, then you may have a conversation
