Irish at Virginia Tech, up 4-0 in bottom of ninth. First, two runners get on, Ace Kohlhepp struggling, bullpen quiet, and Tech bench really getting fired up. What is the answer? Irish just give the ball to their third basemen Brannigan. And he proceeds to clinically take the air out of the Hokies, That dude is all business.

Irish win another series, and get ACC's number 1 seed after being picked last. They will host a 4 team regional in two weeks and may see Michigan or Indiana come to town. ACC Tournament starts on Tuesday in Charlotte.

Big game at noon tomorrow for softball at Kentucky in a regional winners' bracket final. Mighty SEC got 12 of 13 teams in the tourney (SC missed out and Vandy did not compete).

Lacrosse at home against National 3 seed Terps on Sunday.

I miss football but these spring sports have been very entertaining.

the softball team is playing like crap right now as they are down 3-0 in the 1st inning to UK. hope the lax team plays better today at 3pm in the quarterfinals of the ncaa tournament against BC

turned the softball game off for a couple innings and came back to see our irish up 9-3 on UK. winning this weekend would send them to the super regionals for the first time

The Irish completed the sweep of VT earlier this afternoon.

Here are the pools for the ACC Tournament in Charlotte.

If all three teams go 1-1 in pool A, the higher seed advances. So Irish just need to beat the winner of the Cav/Hokie game--although they might not know who that is when they play. Irish swept both teams. Cavs playing well of late, Hokies not so much.

POOL B – #2 Georgia Tech, #7 Louisville, #11 Clemson
POOL C – #3 NC State, #6 North Carolina #10 Pitt

So as the higher seed ND got to pick the schedule. And they advance if all three teams go 1-1. So the chose to have Va play Va Tech on. Tuesday first. This means Irish only have to beat the winner to advance, and they will know who that is in advance. Irish play Tech first on Wednesday. Either way we throw a 1 against a 2. I would have scheduled Hoos (likely Tuesday victor) Wednesday so Friday against 12 seed and struggling Hokies might been a rest day. It’s a great path, but still have to play.
