There are several golden domes in Indiana, a couple in Indianapolis, and one in Montgomery, Indiana. St. Peter's in Montgomery is one of the oldest churches in Indiana, and Father Sorin once considered Montgomery for a Catholic University. The Bishop of Vincennes nixed that idea, as Vincennes University was close by. The Bishop gave Sorin land in Northern Indiana, and you know the rest of the story.
Just think if ND had been founded in Southern Indiana, it probably would have become a basketball school!
